Reed is the best safety I’ve ever seen in my 41 years and there’s no second place. Dude literally was perfection , rarely made mistakes while always making huge plays

Having him and ST back to back is just an embarrassment of riches.

Obviously ST’s book was finished too soon, but at the pace he was going, we would have had 2 of the top 5 safeties ever back to back.

But my dispute is with everyone routinely placing Kenny Phillips over Meriweather.

Meriweather had a much better pro career than Phillips & his Junior season was the best we had from any Safety since Sean Taylor. Meriweather is way too underrated by this fanbase.

Phillips bad knee hurt him bad in the NFL, I think he never reached his full potential. But I dont mind BW ahead of him, I just had them flip flopped.

D Tackles would be way harder just to narrow the list to 4.. I got 5 - Jerome, Russell, Tez, Sapp, Big Vince .. hard to cut one from that list- i guess it would have to be Vince, but man thats tough.

Burgess Owens was 1st team all American, 1st round draft pick and in ring if honor all pro and super bowl champ So not saying it’s not Williams just saying it is very close

What a cot**** position group. A guy like CJ Richardson rarely gets even mentioned in the Top 15 and he was a pretty decent college Safety.
