Been saying it going on 3 years. MR was fired from UGA because in spite of top 5 recruiting classes year after year, his Teams always managed to lose 2-3 games yearly. You will never meet a finer man than MR. He just happens to be who we thought he was. Not a very good football coach. Common guys, I am not that **** smart yet I could see this coming 3 years ago? I will **** guarantee you that if Meyer or Saban were here for the same time frame, we would now be competing for championships. Get ready for at least 2 more loses this year. Look at how Florida(We turned him down), UCF, Texas A&M, Tennessee, etc., are doing with first year coaches!! MR has too much pride and I will predict that there's a very good possibility he will step away from coaching after this year. Where's my man Butch!!!

Richt's downfall was QB recruiting/development. After Murray he had no one. He supposedly passed on Watson idk
Looking like the same situation here but we are running a better defensive scheme than he ever had at Georgia. I think it will get better and we'll be in a position to win a title a few times... meaning in the ACC Championship with a win and you're in resume.
But I can honestly say I don't think Richt ever actually wins one. Not hard to see that. Jarren would have to be the next Deshaun Watson, Neal would have to come here and be a star LT, and the 2018 class is going to have to stick together and develop some legit talent if it's going to happen.

Simply put, MR is not and has never been an ELITE football coach. He is an AVERAGE/GOOD football coach. 9-10 wins per year, with 3-4 of those wins against s....y teams. He WILL NEVER win championships. Never has, never will. The U had our options three years ago to make a good football coaching hire, but as usual we did not. It is what it is!

You are way off base. Understand that the U cannot afford to pay ELITE coaches. What are our options then? Of everyone else left out there, who was better than Butch to coach our Team? His recruiting left Corker players that won NATIONAL Championships. When Butch was interviewed for our job, part of his plan was to bring us a Championship in 3-4 years. What was MR's plan? We coaxed him out of retirement, something we should never have done, to bring us the same UGA crap he was responsible for producing. Let's learn from our lessons guys.

Richt might have taken this job for the wrong reasons. rebounds relationships never work. if it took this job to prove uga wrong. its not the right reason.

Yep, but it won't be before his 5 years are up. I think it's a safe bet that he leaves once year 5 is done. He'll start to see the same writing on the wall he got at UGA where the administration basically told him to release control of coordinating and give it to someone else.
We don't have to be stuck with Richt. I agree Richt is looking like a limited coach who can't develop a QB and can't go to the next level, I hope our Board of Trustees figures that out in real-time and not how long they took to figure out Golden. We can pay this kind of money and get a good coach too, this Richt experiment needs to end soon because he is going to do this cycle repeatedly to us. I am all for Butch Davis!!!
butch has taken time off and studied other top programs. he has the energy and wants his shot. that guy set us up for 3 nc's in a row. we got robbed in 2000, won in 2001, got robbed in 2002 and our 2003 team probably could have competed for one without coker.
