I need thorton to play with his eyes open man,, he almost took out both our DTs just spearing into piles when guys are wrapped up.. I HATE guys who do that.. SMFH..

Exactly I am most disappointed in his talking. On the first touch down he gave up versus Wake he started with his eyes out of position ended trying to run to the flat and then the dude caught the ball and ran right through him.

I also noticed him just throwing his body or shoulder into the pile multiple times almost injuring teammates.

To me he is to in his own head right now. He is thinking too much. Maybe that's because he is being asked to do things that he is not particularly good at

Some of y'all opinion just flat out confuse me. If Thorton can be expected to cover at Nickel so can Brown. There has been nothing to demonstrate Thorton would be better in coverage there. Remember he played mostly Safety as Boston College

Damari has the most potential at Safety

I do believe Damari would make a better nickel than Thornton if I had to choose… but both are safeties playing out of position. Damari should look at James Williams as an example of losing out on money by not switching to a position that makes the most sense while in college.

Thorton should get moved up higher. He plays amazingly when he's going downhill.

And Demari? I'm a fan for putting him at nickel. He's physical and can put hands on the jitterbugs. He'll then have safety help.

We know who are starters are -- but we have to find the right combination already bcuz this is getting ridiculous.

Thread title explains it's self. I think Damari Brown would do well in that role. He is physical and has the prototypical size for both positions. If Brown's body can hold up I say move him and get some of the younger cover corners some playing time.

Unfortunately Thorton has had a really rough start to the year. His coverage hasn't been good honestly from the first game. The man he is guarding be it man or zone almost always catches the ball for a significant gain.

Moving Brown will help improve his coverage as well and then Thorton can play on strictly running downs. Also hope we continue to see Dylan Day in the mix.

Thornton has been good with the exception of getting burned on a double-move vs. Wake - you guys are insufferable: you take on anecdote and extrapolate a narrative about a guy to write him off.

To be honest he hasn't been getting any hype in a couple of years. We've already seen multiple disappointing years from him.

Played pretty well overall last year.

I agree it's not been a great career and he certainly hasn't looked good this season, but he was a solid player last year.
