You need to step back into reality. People only wanting "real Canes" or not wanting to recruit kids they classify as "divas" would end up with a roster full of Brendan Loftus and Joe Browns if they had their way. Kids like Duke - high-profile kids who commit early and stick - are rare as ****. The dysfunction goes on everywhere. Saban, Meyer, Miles - everyone is battling over blue chip recruits who are peeing into their hats, retweeting stuff from different fans, getting tattoos of schools, pooping into fax machines on NSD, announcing their choice by piledriving university presidents who didn't make the cut, etc.
Welcome back to big time recruiting. It's a circus and a war.
We aren't Temple no matter how much Golden tried to make it so. You guys want more Tyre Bradys and Alex Galls cuz they wanna be here and don't "play games," or do you wanna man up and play the game to get the Cooks, Rudolphs, Collins, and Ridleys of the world? You want Miami to slink away with their tail between their legs crying about "prima donnas," but that's not how it works. Not when you're running a big time program. You've gotta get in that muck and mix it up. Be dirtier and grimier. Convince them to sign. Play the game.
Thankfully Richt was molded in the trenches of the most volatile recruiting area in the country. He's no stranger to the bag men, handlers, and chaos that runs rampant among recruiting in the south.
He ain't scared. Sack up and take note.
