Safety
That would be awesome actually I'd love to see Smith ball out it's what we all expected he was alot bigger than I thought too pause. Is this your guess or what you hearing some things bout Smith? You have it wrong. Chase Smith will be the one taking starting snaps from Alderman and Wes.

RB2.
He showed flashes.Agreed.
He brought a nice change up to the RB rotation last year.
That's a bold statement! considering, we haven't seen anybody play yet! And, zp and mack is only freshmen. So you trust freshmen over markieth and harris who have been here at least 2yrs. And, dyoni hill is the star or nickel!Unfortunately not a lot of options there. Only ZP and maybe Mack unless they move Powell over which would create a gap at Nickel.
Key and Breshard were both pretty valuable the last few yearsKick returner. Washington/CJ/ray ray?
It boggles my mind that we haven't had someone who, at the very least, could reliably field a punt cleanly in the past 5+ years. Even Restrepo muffed several punts. This is Miami. Are we allowed to have a dynamic punt returner? For years, all I've said is just put a kid back there who can catch the football, because we had a PhD in giving games away by muffing punts. But give me a ******* break here....is it too much to ask to coach a kid to be able to catch AND *GASP!!* make someone miss and flip field position?
Miami was 92nd in the country in punt return average last year.
80th in 2022.
OK in 2021, but we were 123rd in 2020....we returned 15 punts for 33 yards. 33!!
We haven't returned a punt for a touchdown against an FBS school since 2018.
Does Braxton Berrios have any eligibility left?
With all this talent and speed, we gotta be able to find somebody who can catch the football every single time, and have some wiggle to get upfield.
Between Nathaniel Joseph, Robby Washington, JoJo Trader, Ny Carr & possibly CJJr, we have a lot of options at PR that fit that description. This is Miami. All good! Cane family, in my opinionMy bad, I didn't mean to say Markeith and Harris wouldn't start. They seem to be the designated starters. I was thinking of who else could help out at Safety. I think you're right that if they pull Powell from Nickel to S, it's probably some combination of Hill and D Brown backfill.
Do you think Hill or Brown are the most likely to line up vs UF next to Porter?
All good! Cane family, in my opinion
cb-1 porter,
cb-2 damari or hill
Nickel- hill or damari
Ss- Powell or zp
Fs- Harris or markieth
I'm assuming he's serviceable! Cuz, I don't think Jackson and guidry would've brought him over! And brown hopefully Jackson can develop him?If Hill or Damari can free up Powell to play Safety, I feel 10x better about the back 4/5. I'm just spooked by @Memnon film breakdown of Brown in the past, and I don't quite know what to expect of Hill coming over from Marshall.
