moss has 99 pass attempts in the last two games

If you go back and watch last year’s game, Shough was a huge difference-maker. His athleticism and size allowed him to avoid a ton of sacks and get the ball away. Moss is much more vulnerable and has a weaker arm.

And that was against a much worse pass rush, too. Bain probably played his best game that day, he was a menace, but he (and Mesidor) were nowhere near what they are today in that game up there. Shough barely escaped multiple times from a far worse pass rush than what a more immobile Moss is going to see Friday.

If their tendencies hold, and they continue to be in the 3rd and longs that they've been in all year, we're gonna eat.

They haven't been great running the ball, but they've had a lot of injuries to key players, all of whom will be/should be available. That said, we're still a tough matchup for them upfront. They will have to throw, I'd expect their backs and TE to be heavily involved. Brohm will move the pocket and take deep shots aplenty, too. Defensively, I suspect they will back off on the blitzes and look to keep from getting gashed as much as possible. We've shown our vulnerability to be late in games, we have to break that tendency and keep the pressure on them. They will be angling for a close game late.

Their two P5 games (Pitt and Virginia) they have run the ball 61 times for 107 yards. That’s 1.75 yards per carry.

They’re also 124th in sacks allowed per game. They have one of the worst lines in the P4. Our defense is going to eat well.

Oh and having someone competent in scheming up a defense should do us some good.

They're really not even trying to run the ball because they're so bad at it.

They're 126th in the country in rushing attempts per game.

Bryce is getting another INT

I was going to write this in my prediction. Moss is inaccurate when pressured and he tends to sail the ball. If Bryce plays the passing lanes like Ed used to do then he'll have his chance. He also telegraphs some passes that UVA and Pitt weren't athletic enough to get to in time but Bryce may. If I'm Bryce I'm keying on Bell and shadowing him. The ball is going that way.

things can be so misleading at this juncture of the season... two weeks ago was told fsu had the best offense in the country ... of course they did if it's based off playing kent state and east texas a&m

Their numbers would be even worse if they hadn’t played an FCS team and two low level G5 teams to start the season. Their defense is statistically one of the best in the country but they played three bums and Pitt with the quarterback who got benched. It’s very similar to FSU’s situation but at least they could say they played Bama.

Easier to double team on the inside. They've been creative with loading one side of the LOS and leaving Bain on the end alone to get 1on1 and mugging the LOS with a LB or Safety to get the offense to adjust the protection to get him matchups.

Don't think this is a good matchup for Lightfoot, as a traditional DE, because he's more susceptible to a chip. Bain and Mesidor and even Blount are great types to have in a matchup like this to absorb it. If Lightfoot can come in as an extra rusher as a 3rd LB in situations with Bain, Mesidor, and 2 true 2 DTs on the field as well.. I would like it.
Bain has also basically not played any DT this year.

But if you put on of him or Mesidor In the B gap with Lightfoot outside then simulate pressure to the opposite side... Which is exactly what we already do in pass situations lol.

Louisvilles weakness is Offensive trenches. Their strength is their defensive trenches. We will see if they have to overload to stop our run game or not. I think they are more likely to have pass rush success than FSU.
