What kept this team from winning the NC? Defense was amazing ..noticed they did not score much
We imploded in the 2nd half vs Washington (game that broke the home winning streak) and basically same thing vs. Nebraska, particularly on offense. Erickson's affinity for giant, lazy, useless OL really caught up with us that season, as did mediocre QB play. It was a championship defense.

Lol....I'm 58...with 190+ UM games and 3 NCs under my belt....I've been fortunate to have been at most of the Huge Wins since 76....The Houston (Klingler) game was loud as **** as well...

That was another classic Canes ***-whooping. I remember ESPN hyping up Houston and Klinger, and then we totally destroyed his “legend” and their team on Prime Time tv. Our boys were eating all night!

Although our O struggled all year - our D got gashed that night - 200 yards on the ground at Home --- their OL pushed us around in the 4th qtr

My favorite game. I was 8. Loud as all ****, all game. Never forget my Dad laughing his *** off when Carlos Jones took back that pick. Fook f$u!!!

Only really ar OL and QB. Everything else was pretty good, until sanctions.
RB was so-so...and completely flubbed the Marshall Faulk recruitment....People don't realize how quick Faulk would've been a Cane, if we would have recruited him as a RB and not a DB...

I was there. Just a brutally loud, amped up game, one of the craziest I ever witnessed, and I was in that stadium for all the classics. The Jones pick six was really something, you would have thought the place was going to come down. It was insane pretty much the whole game, though.

The OL was bad in 92 too.
The o lines during our glory years were always the weak link. Art struggled to put together good offensive lines, we were able to overcome the issue on several occasions because we were so talented everywhere else. The 92 Bama NC game was the greatest example of Kehoe's line getting blown up, Gino needed a life insurance policy! Penn State also exposed that line in Happy Valley that year, 13 took a beating. Coach E's scheme was ahead of its' time helping mask some of the issues by getting the ball out early and the defense in 92 was outstanding. I always thought Art was an overated position coach.
