Pretty sure we had a converted TE at OT that game as well.

It was also extremely loud when FSU missed that final kick in 2000.

But with 1/3 of the stadium dead from dehydration (the OB ran out of water and beer in the 3rd), it probably wasn't the loudest lol.

I still don’t know how Gino survived that season. That line was scary.

Remember the game against FSU that year, Wide RIght 2? It was like a contest between Gino and Charlie Ward to see who could take the most big hits. Both of them were punching bags in that game.

Saw it with my own eyes. G got rocked on the game winning throw to Lamar. Brutal hitting in that game. The Penn State game in Happy Valley was just as bad, our o
line got destroyed, just a hint as to what was coming in the NC game

IMO, Erickson was probably the best gameday coach we had. He won more big games than any of our other coaches besides Schnellenberger/JJ. Jimmy and Butch were better recruiters.

Coach E does not get the credit he deserves. People always say “He won with Jimmy’s recruits.” Well guess what, Coach E won 2 NCs with jimmy’s guys, Jimmy won one. Erickson was way ahead of his time. His offenses led to the modern day spread. Offensive genius
