Moorhead to Akron

Can not believe this is best he could do

I guess at least Akron has been beating BG lately

Yeah I don't think any OC is going to look at the ACC Rookie of the Year surrounded by a bunch of Maserati's and say, "Let's run the wishbone".
Not to that extreme, but you’d be surprised how certain OC’s will take something that’s working & completely fck it up because they want things done their way...

Adaptability is the most important quality of any good OC & I can tell you from my extensive study of OC’s that that quality is not present in many of them, in fact, I would say most OC’s are the exact opposite.

A lot coaches in college football fck themselves over because their ego won’t allow them to do what works best as opposed to doing what they think works best & there’s a big difference between the two.

This is my biggest issue with the NFL of the past. The OCs are going to run their system and not try and mold around what they have.

Mark Richt refused to make any changes. Rosier even said they installed tons of stuff in practice and they got in the games and he would call the same BS non-stop

Richt didn't want to be here... we dragged him here. Should have hired Butch.

Jumbo Fisher is the biggest culprit of this, his system hasn’t changed since the 90’s when he was at Auburn with Terry Bowden & LSU with Saban in the early 00’s.

Mike Bobo is another one, he just got fired at AU for the same thing.

I was obviously being dramatic but yes, I agree with you. Actually a post later in this thread I basically say that exact thing.....the mark of a good coach is adapting to his talent, not the other way around and I agree that way too few of them do this.

Correct. Jimbo is good when he has elite playmakers. At fsu he had winston, benjamin, cook, greene, freeman, o'leary, etc. He just lost a 4 yr starter at QB and took a huge step back offensively in 2021.

Do you really think the outcome of the game is going to determine whether Mario comes here or not? He's got to know whether he is going to Miami or not right now - regardless of who wins.

Agree. He knows and Miami knows. They are banging out financial details as we speak IMO. If they can come to agreement he comes else he doesn't. If Miami was keeping Manny this would have been announced already IMO. They are definitely hedging though which says Mario or Manny which fuggin sucks.

He will probably tell the players before the game or soon after. We should know by Friday midnight
