Monday Recruiting Chatter - 12/10

Sounds like a bunch of excuses. I doubt that is what differentiates us from them. We have seen and heard all the time our staff focuses on specific players and loses connection with potential backups. It backfired on us last year and it’s happening again. Don’t spin it.

You know what it takes to keep relationships while coaching your position in meetings and making sure the game plan is ready week to week. While having a family at that for most of these coaches. You get the staff to do most of the heavy lifting and they build bonds with the kid and have them feel important and special. This is chess not checkers. Oh you know where Kirby learned the tactic. Look at Bama and check they’re class out. Saban only comes through to drop the final touches and seal the deal.

“something that suffered when Miami dropped contact for all of summer and part of the fall.”

Our staff continues to put itself in a bad situation losing contact with these kids and putting all their eggs in one basket. Meanwhile, Florida and UGA manage to recruit these kids. I just don’t understand this strategy.
Actually there are conflicting reports on that. Some, like Stefan, said that contact dropped off but others say there was still contact behind the scenes.

Not disagreeing with any of that. But when it’s reported that we arent establishing relationships, let alone contact with these kids, it’s infuriating. It’s a strategy issue. No excuses for this. This is an indictment on Richt.

Agreed. However, I feel there are too many reports of us offering super late and losing contact. Miami is putting itself in serious risk if they don’t hit on their priority targets.

Yeah i know .. just being a Miami fan and the need for lineman .. on top of being close with Dawand .. was curious .. uf fsu have taken notice and offered even with UF .. flipping both our linemen they still want him 🤷🏽‍♂️

Ok. I'd just go ahead and relay that info to him. Because yeah, we have dire need of OL. And it could be the case where the staff just isn't aware of him; it happens.

So pretty **** good news everywhere but Richt if he changes just 1 thing its to not shorten the recruiting list early on when stud players are still interested. Smith, Dixon, Gordon etc we could've had already even as backup plans and sure the staff is making up for it now but you're hoping kids who arr arrogant get over it

They’re not arrogant, they just don’t expect to be treated like **** by a mediocre program when better programs are calling them every day.

Shouldn’t surprise anyone. He would have committed by now If he were coming to Miami. At the moment, he would literally be the only RB commit at Miami, yet nothing. He’s been gone.
So why hasnt he committed to auburn?

Great work Stefan!!! Hits coming at a rapid clip. Any word on Bogle? Other than Evan Neal, he might be the most important recruit. Pray to God, Saban doesn't close this kid. Still have bad memories from the Jobe saga last year.

Thibodeaux announces on the 15th. If he picks Baga, that leaves Bogle to us. If Thibodeaux decides to go elsewhere, I think Bogle goes to Baga.
