Monday media 9/27

I'm sure it's been said but why does Manny keep referring only to the last 2 classes as if he wasn't 100% responsible for the entire defensive classes for the last 6 years?

Imagine how those guys feel who had Manny sitting there in their living room begging them to come play here and now he talks about them like they were some "previous" staff's recruit.

People have also been driven away for insults and you insulted @wspcane in this thread without cause.

This is positively trolling or clueless…

Honestly, I probably tossed out something too. In any case, I can’t imagine being so dug in with positivity that you can’t even understand how or why people are skeptical.

I will say, I don’t like people going after the players, even guys that are playing the worst. That’s on the coaches for continuing to play them. But if a guy is staying out of trouble, representing the school well, getting good grades, I hate that talk about dropping kids scholarships and things like that.

The coaches, however, are an entirely fair game. Manny putting out those quotes were actually the final nail for me. Play straight out of the Al Golden playbook.

Ok. You threw in next year too though. Manny’s had control of the defense - scheme and coaching - and defensive recruiting - for 6 years.
I've been following college football for decades. I definitely think firing a coach, or obsessing over firing a coach, early in year three (after having a winning record in year two) is beyond idiotic and would cause much more damage to the program than any positive.

And yes, I think a new coach with no coaching experience, But other clear qualities, deserves at least four or five years before getting the plug pulled. I much prefer the Frank Beamer model.

And you question my fandom because I'm positive and haven't given up on the season yet. Hah.

No.. I’m the ****** kid on there… is it Kyle?

I don’t know how anyone can look at our situation and think the answer is more time.
I see all the fingerprints of a troll in that thread.

First, he calls attention to his credibility ('I've been following college football for decades');

Second, he makes an indefensible and categorical over-statement ('I definitely think firing a coach ... early in year three (after having a winning record in year two) is beyond idiotic and would cause much more damage to the program than any positive.');

Third, he doubles down with an insane statement that no fan could believe to be true ('I think a new coach with no coaching experience, But other clear qualities, deserves at least four or five years before getting the plug pulled.')

This is pretty good stuff. Smells like a keeper.

Shoop would be DC next year after Michigan stops paying him if Manny wins 9 games which is HIGHLY unlikely....but what Manny does not realize is that Cristobal might do the same if he comes here, ie keep Shoop along with Trob and maybe Simpson
Who are you people that continually pimp Cristobal?
