Monday media 9/27

Imma be honest ladies & gents:

If I’m one of Diaz’s recruits, I’m salty af. Basically ur saying the past 3 seasons have gone to chit b/c we don’t have the players. Well, Mr Diaz, U’ve been here for 6 seasons. So in actuality, all of the young men that u’ve either directly or indirectly recruited, ALL OF THEM, are on u. Now all of sudden, U’re saying u can recruit “better” b/c kids can see the full fruition of buildings erected, vs. a dream.

In actuality U’re saying the older guys (again, an excuse that was used when they were young after going 6-7 and not learning how to win) are not good enough, but just wait til the younger guys (guys who’ve been buried on the bench b/c they “lack” experience) come of age.

This is the cyclical bull chit that’s ruined many programs over the yrs, the whole “just wait til my guys come in.” Well, the problem is, Diaz’s guys are already here. Allegedly Baker was the problem, coaching his guys, but now that we’re statistically on par for being another putrid defense, it’s wait til the young guys and better classes come on board.

This **** talks in circles, and usually a coach who talks in circles are trying to talk over & around you to deflect from who or what is the real problem, and that’s them.

P.S last time that I checked, I don’t recall ESPN mentioning anything about resources; I believe the resource chit was talked about…….well…….here.

I get the feeling that Manny is using the publicity from being the head coach of the University of Miami to launch his political career. He will run for office once he's fired.

I am not sure I have ever seen someone use so many words and say absolutely nothing. Impressive.
What the **** is this? Spoken like a true politician that was coached up. Guy should be fired making those statement alone. Make up on a pig. Avoid the fact he sucks as a coach & player development. Take out the results of the high school game, what are we ranked? Dead last in defense or something like that.

I wonder how many people understand what this mamalook is really saying... He's literally blaming our fans and the media for acting this way, and saying our response to his coaching and team play is pushing away current players and potential recruits from wanting to be here... Heaven forbid he acknowledges his lack of coaching as an actual issue.

His letter and defense of Julio Frenk inspired me to donate to Tulane, my other alma mater.

Just curious. Has espn ever blamed administration of another school like this? If so do not remember but not an espn fan either. Glad they did but just wondering.

Manny was asked to do this on behalf of the University. It made sense for him to be the one to speak publicly; he has this Monday press conference weekly.

I highly doubt he crafted these comments by himself. The Admin wanted the points to be made about the facilities. They wanted to remind everyone how involved President Frenk was in the ACC actually playing last year- What else could they say? All of that is true and very public. I will say I did get a chuckle when Blake was tied to Frenk in one of the remarks referring to the new dorms.... As if he had anything to do with that.

It's unfortunate none of the press were prepared to go back on all of the dorm stuff. That had nothing to do with Blake James or football. It was part of a long range plan by the University to upgrade and increase the housing for the student population. Part of it was funded by grants they received due to the solar aspect of the new lakeside village. The total numbers of students needing on campus housing has exploded since 2018. Before the Holiday Inn across the street was demolished, they used to house students in a few floors of the hotel... And they started offering and encouraging newly admitted students to study abroad the first semester to alleviate the freshman housing crunch..

He’s saying the same **** Al said. This fan base has seen this playbook before. 15 years, we’ve seen and heard it all before. Him and the admin are insulting our intelligence at this point.

Well said.

The only thing he is right about in his whole speech was that the economic gap between schools and other conference is growing and that nobody wants to talk about it. The rest was deflection and but kissing for the president. It showed me that if he goes 7-5 he probably gets retained another year.

That’s fair. But you have to count the Attrition. Which if I remember correctly was fairly high under MR for whatever reason. On the defensive side of the ball that should fall on tge DC who was Diaz. But we don’t know who had final say when it came to personnel . We should assume it was manny.

I didn’t see the game day segment on Miami. But from what manny actually had to say today, I honestly don’t have a problem with what he had to say. As far as stadium attendance and location we’ve always had that as a “issue”. From what I’ve gathered the Game day crew was mostly Hinting at Miami spending 💰 on a HC

But for manny The problem is this, are we on the path to doing what he said. For example, recruiting. This cycle is not close to over. But as far as “stacking classes” we aren’t there in this cycle.

At the end of the day, yes recruits care about facilities and support staff etc. But you have to give them a reason to come. That means results on the field. And as of now he hasn’t had the results. They aren’t gunna wait around. By they I mean fans/media/even the administration.

The szn is not over..but I’ll tell you this, Diaz better have built some equity in that locker room. Because that press conference he’s talking about recruiting etc etc could open a can of BS you don’t won’t going into ACC. Even if I don’t disagree with what he was saying big picture wise, this wasn’t the time for that imo
