Mobile QB Put To Rest

Last nights game which featured L'ville vs Houston should put to rest the assumption that a mobile QB will solve the issues of a failed OL. I watched that game and it appeared as a mirror image of the U's struggles this year with it's OL and it's affect on the QB play as well as the outcome of games played against quality defensive lines. Our QB caught so much **** because of his lack of mobility and his comparison to L'villes QB as an example of how his skill set would have won those same games for us. It was so refreshing to see this assumption put on display for all to see that it does not matter how elusive a QB is; if the OL does not block the outcome will be the same. So be careful of what you wish for.

Jackson - 20 of 43, 211, 1 TD and Sacked 11 Times!!! ****, Kayaa was never sacked 11 times... I told U what defenses would do to a mobile QB - take away the pass and make him beat you running the football. Jackson got his 40 yards rushing and Houston got the WIN!

Kayaa - 23 of 38, 323, 2 TD's and Sacked 8 Times vs VT.

We are all spoiled because we have more than what we deserve and we don't appreciate what we have. Kayaa is one of the best QB's in the game so let's hope that he comes back and with improved OL play the sky is the limit.

Mobile QB - The Best Feet At QB Position Couldn't Side Step This Traffic... HEEHEE!!! I heard someone (Blind *** U FAN) scream just step up in the pocket!!! NOTE: These are not scramble sacks... Straight teeoffs from the snap!!!

Pocket Passer - Very Similar Movement From The QB When That Pressure Is On That ***!!!

Terrible post. Of course a mobile QB doesn't completely solve the issue of a bad line. A mobile QB has a fighting chance to make plays and not get killed though. A statue of a QB behind a bad line is always going to be a disaster.

At least a moblie QB will escape the pocket once in a while to pick up the first down. With Brad its just going to be a sack over and over again.

It's not that a mobile QB would "solve" Oline issues, it's that it would almost certainly help AND without question gives a any offense an added threat in general. That extra dimension stresses defenses and wins games every single week in cfb. The easiest example is when it's 3rd and long, everyone is covered, yet the QB breaks free for a first down run. Rips the heart out of a defense. Which says nothing about designed runs with an extra blocker, etc.

And by the way, while UH had 11 sacks last night, it would've been even worse with a statue back there. I mean, Kaaya might have been sacked 20+ times if you swapped him in, no exaggeration.

Without Jackson's mobility Louisville would have put up negative yards last night. Worst post of the year.

The thread complaining about Houston using trick plays is much worse. This thread would have had potential if the premise was that last night's game was evidence that Rosier would not have been the season savior some fancied him to be our the OL continued to get abused like Louisville's did last night.

The debate is valid (although some of the mobility fanatics are a little too strident) but the OP could've done 1000x better than to cherry pick anything related to Lamar Jackson let alone a single really bad night by Louvul.

That said, Kaaya's struggles this year aren't due to the fact that he's less mobile than Bret Bielema posted up at a Golden Corral Chocolate Wonderfall. Pocket awareness and ability to not take a sack when lightly blown upon have nothing to do with being a threat to take off for the 1st down on foot- something we shouldn't need him to do to be even remotely successful in this offense.

Main thing a mobile qb would do is make something out of nothing when everything breaks down and pick up a first down. When the pressure is coming like it was yesterday can't do anything about that

But you have to take account that many mobile qbs struggle with things like accuracy, reading a defense beyond the basic rpo crap, and ability to make all the throws. It's more give and take than people admit

Exactly my point!!! These cats don't get it. Pocket awareness making something out of nothing all of that goes out the window when the play is dead from the snap. These cats got everything they wanted a QB that scrambled for a first down and made a play here or there. Same things Kayaa has done all year and he got the same results - an L.

Wait......Kayaa has scrambled for a first down and made a play here or there all year? When was that?
