The guy may improve 100% over the break, yet still only be good as a serviceable backup or last resort. Who knows? It could very well be that the talent is limited, and he’s got a very low ceiling. That’s not his fault. If you want to blame somebody blame whoever pulled the trigger on bringing him in. At the same time there was very little risk with this. It’s one year and he’s done.
Constantly obsessing over it, is worthless, especially since we have no idea what him or any of the other offensive lineman have been doing during the break. It’s not like we’re getting reports.
In about a week we’re going to start to get a little bit of information about how the offensive line is doing in general, and then into the second or third week we will probably have a solid idea of who the starters are going to be, and how maybe their backups are performing.
As far as Kennedy goes, I’m not making any judgments until October. By that time I will know how valuable contributor he will be or has been.
