Mike Ryan tidbit

I understand that some people don't like the idea of Zo as AD. **** if I had the choice it would be Jurich or someone else. BUT, Zo is nothing like Swann. Two completely different resumes.

If your Zo and primary concern and expertise is football, who not become Deputy Athletic Director in charge of Football? Being AD means you are responsible for all sports and cannot just focus on football.

And honestly I don’t know why the fvck Torretta keeps getting mentioned. Dude is a financial advisor. Obvious tho who his prominent backer is. That dude needs to go away and his son needs to stop ******* up the baseball team.

Just because a guy is a 5 time NASCAR series champ doesn't mean he'd be a great long haul truck driver.

Both involve driving and endurance, but there are a thousand differences. Being a NFL executive is a high pressure job and is impressive in its own right, but it has much direct applicability to being a major P5 AD as driving a stock car has with driving a truck. I'm not saying Highsmith can't do the job. What I am saying is USC replaced Lynn Swann with an AD with over 35 years of AD experience. This article says it all:

"Southern California hired Mike Bohn as its new athletic director on Thursday, breaking from tradition to turn over the program to a veteran collegiate sports administrator with no ties to the school."

And what did Mr. "No ties to the school" do? Steal the best coach in cfb not named Nick Saban away from Oklahoma without anyone in cfb having even the slightest idea the deal was in the works.

DiMare isn't as involved in this, this time around, as people think he is. While I am not an insider, I did hear that he's not in great health at the moment.

Some of been Ferman’d and Heralded. Patience guys, as I said the herald article is extremely off base.
Is it fair to say you have gone back and independently confirmed that The Herald was wrong or is this based on your earlier thinking? The former would indeed be exciting news.

I suspect that's the point. Then when Manny gets the axe, his father can ask what else anyone would expect from this clown show, when he's the ringmaster all along.
His dad will call up Frenk and yell at him on the phone. "This isn't fair! My little boy has worked hard! I'll ruin you"

interesting. Must be Epstein that is backing Torretta then

Alonzo is the kind of dude it would be good to have aroujd for sure. Just not as an AD. That makes little sense. We want someone that has been an AD before. Bring in Alonzo too. But the idea of Alonzo plus promoting from within is ******* stupid as ****

It was wrong the minute I read it and posted as such. Unless there is a massive change of heart, which I do not anticipate, there is close to zero truth about what was mentioned. Again I will stay, Manny is gone, there will be an upgrade at A.D., and some people mentioned or that have been mentioned may have a role in the organization but they will not be running the entire athletic department.

It’s hard to be patient at this juncture — we’re the laughing stock of CFB right now.

Please don’t take this as me attacking you, but it’s getting really frustrating.
Luckily the Lincoln Riley news is keeping attention off of us. But on the other hand maybe that’s a bad thing. Public humiliation seems to be the only thing that motivates the admin into doing something to fix the **** show.
