That is also far and away my biggest concern regarding Mario. This is where a strong AD and Zo would come into play in terms of steering Mario in the right direction offensively. Jurich would be a dream come true.

All of this.

As soon as you start getting into what Lashlee is doing, he lays an egg.

One thing I have noticed in our offensive droughts is we don’t always match the play calling to the defensive numbers and alignment. When we do, we march. When we don’t, we stagnate.

We get to places where the play calls seem kind of random and we go right into the teeth of the called defense for no reason. It’s perplexing. I don’t know if TVD can audible, but we could take a big step under Lashlee if we did a better job determining where we have favorable numbers and alignment on any particular play.

Butch was amazing!!

Coker doesn’t count. He wasn’t a Miami guy!

Are you counting Diaz as a Miami guy? Dude never played college football & went to FSU.

Am I the only one who thinks we man block better?

The problem with inside zone is too often our double team doesn’t move the dt and nobody can get to the second level.

Inside zone is my favorite run play and I wanted it to be the base of the offense, but we can’t get it consistently.

I notice more plays that seem to be man blocking concepts and everyone is one on one. Even when guys get pushed back or beat to a side, there have still been good holes. Let the defensive lineman go where he wants and seal him off. It has worked and we get guys to the second level easier on these plays.

I think we will be surprised at the improved play on the line with the more intense practices Mario will run. Bama goes 1vs1 a lot from what I can tell. I remember reading they had to take Allen( Thanos) out because the 1st team offense couldn’t get anything done with him on the field.

I think Mario will bring this approach and it would pay dividends.

Shannon was a solid DC for us. Chud was a great OC for us.

Bill would coach two college teams: Alabama and Miami. good friend of mine played lacrosse at Rutgers with his son and he said only two college teams he’d ever consider are bama and Miami.
