Go ahead and get it off your chest: "Dude would kill it here!!"

Dude actually lost his fifth straight season opener, 45-42 to Eastern Washington. Granted, Eastern Washington is one of those top tier FCS teams....having gone 6-5 last year.

But at least he puts up points and acts crazy in press conferences.

There have been a lot of bad coaches morons in green and orange wanted here. And alot of just decent ones too ( Butch) , thank god for the first time since JJ we have a great coach ( and a great staff as Manny is true attacking D cord.)

I was about to start a thread about how overrated Leach is myself before I saw this thread.

He also lost to an FCS team last year.

Apparently WSU had some ridiculous turnover fortune last year too. Which is very unlikely to happen again this year.

And Golden's staff was one halfback pass in the snow away from beating him.

Mike Leach, Dan Mullen, the trail of tears is long and pathetic for many of our fans. Thank god Mark Richt fell right into our lap.

if the young defense doesn't hold up and Canes lose some games, there won't be a lot of posts like this

I remember when a bunch of fans on this site clamored for Mike leach good times...

That's why people with slightly better resumes and intellect profiles make the hiring decisions, and the people that wanted Leach wear hair nets and serve them their lunch.

I'd have taken him over Shannon or Golden, so lets at least have some context when trying engage in a massive straw man call out thread.

Nothing makes me think Leach would've been a better hire than Shannon. I'd rather take the shot with the guy who knows what Miami is about and at least tried to win with that and run the program the right way. Shannon never lost to the FCS.

Golden and his staph made every corch look like a mad scientist; Leach no different.

Leach would probably have won more than the other two corches, but he would've been a disruptive disaster otherwise. And when we would've fired him, which we would have eventually, it would've been the biggest shīt show on earth and hurt the program.

Wow what a high standard.

Who wouldn't I take over Shannon and Golden? I guess Paul Wulff, Ty Willingham, Mike London, Muschamp maybe Randy Edsall. And whatever the name of the current Purdue coach is.

Yeah, we passed on Leach and hired Golden. And these fools think they are vindicated.

2006 is when Leach was supposedly considered not 2010. According to rumor he was drunk and a huge buffoon at his job interview.

2010 was after the player abuse scandal so Miami's administration would never consider consider hiring him. And quite frankly I don't believe that 99% of school administrations would have been willing to give him the time of day in 2010.

Leach lost to Portland State as 31 point favorite in last season's opener and this time he was favored by 27.5 at kickoff against Eastern Washington. It opened 28.5 but was bet down slightly.

I hope he coaches forever. Whenever there's an uptick in his reputation you can totally ignore it and rely on base logic, that his system can't succeed, not with so few rushing attempts and a finesse style. He's actually very fortunate to have a young quarterback like Falk who connects on a high percentage and will win some games. Minus discovering Luke Falk it's very possible last season would have been so disastrous that the fans and athletic department would have been so restless that Leach could have been forced out.
