The banner has temporarily served its purpose. Should we lose next Saturday, expect the bannering to become furious and with a vengeance.
6-4(3-3) is screaming for a banner.
LOL @ anyone actually thinking Al Golden saw a banner and magically learned how to coach.
Whatever happened the past few weeks, and whatever happens the next few weeks, would have happened either way. It has nothing to do with the banner. The banner was an external manifestation of things people inside the program were already well aware of.
It's not about Folden learning how to coach, but rather trusting his players. And he didn't do that until his fat *** started to feel the heat from the fans and (possibly) the administration. The math is real simple...win, and the banners stop! Not that complicated.
Would trusting his players (and calling more aggressive plays on defense, and establishing a more defined offense via the run, and all the other changes that seem to have been made over the past few weeks) not be contained under the umbrella of learning how to coach?
No. **** no!! That would imply he knew what to do all along, but chose not to do it. That falls under the umbrella of being a stubborn jackass, which he is!
Three weeks of better football does not make up for the 3/12 years of bullsh*t we all had to endure.
Not necessarily. It could imply that he is capable of learning and changing because that's what appears to be happening. We've finally established an identity on offense that uses our best player to the best of his abilities. We're finally blitzing and putting pressure on opposing quarterbacks. We're finally beating conference opponents convincingly.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not ready to say that Golden is the best guy for the job, but if you want to talk about being stubborn then deny Golden the credit he deserves for stringing together three strong victories because you're mad that we were bad for the past three years.
You're right. Three weeks of better football does not make up for three years of garbage, but a full season of good football starts with one week of good football followed by another week of good football followed by another week of good football...
With that said, we all agree that we haven't played strong teams. This is only what it seems. We'll know a lot more about this team in one week.
