Mike James on fan base raising money for fire golden banner

Personally, I would be very worried about Golden's ability as a coach if one banner made him change his strategy. Sure he knows that fans are not happy, but he knew about that before the banner flew. The banner maybe let him know how upset some fans were about the situation, but let's not think it was the catalyst that turned The U back into a team to be reckoned with. I would not mind if Golden headed back to his beloved State Penn, but if a banner made him change his coaching, then I would want him gone all the more.

Shut up ****** hypocrite. Has every single dollar of your disposable income gone to hungry kids (mike james, not OP)?

edit/
did not fund the banner

Hey tough guy....Mike James does donate money and time to kids whose parents worked in law enforcement and lost their lives like his mother did his sophomore year. So u shut the **** up

I'm glad James called out the cowards behind the banner. Easy to hide behind the anonymity of flying a banner.
Put your names on it u cowards.

The person behind the banner did a newspaper interview 3 weeks ago using his name and i believe picture. So is he a coward?

No, just a dumb ***.

No, he's a hero.

Let's see how all you Golden **** lickers are acting after we lose to FSU and then split our last 2 against horrible opponents. Place will be a ******* ghost town.

He's not the right guy for the job. If any of you retards think 2 back to back wins against a pair of below average teams which have 10 combined losses between them means ANYTHING....then retards isn't even a strong enough word for you.

Site has been infested by faculty, admins, and corresponding family members...I'm convinced of it.

Still nobody answers my question, what harm has the banner done? I suspect this won't be answered because it didn't cause any harm, it actually helped.

And yes, I'm saying the banner is part of the recent changes. It's not a coincidence that Al was content with 2 of the worst defenses in school history and made zero changes, then when the heat is applied in various forms (which the banner was a big part of, nationally at least) suddenly we see a more aggressive defense.

The last thing any corporation wants is the public as a whole speaking out against them, nothing forces change faster then that. This isn't new and it isn't limited to football or Miami fans in particular

I was gonna let this slide, but you're so vigorous in your assertions, I'll bite.

Are you insinuating that the day the first banner flew, the coaches looked up in the sky and suddenly realized that they needed to call the defense differently than they had been?

Are you insinuating that an entire week of game planning and preparation went out the window when a banner went up in the sky HOURS before kickoff?

Gotta love some ****** calling other people cowards while hiding behind the anonymity of his own screen name. Or does this clown have Cane Almighty on his hatch certificate?

I think the anti-banner brigade intentionally deflects the of the overall pressure that these corches were obviously feeling.

This pressure has been corroborated by not only very prominent and vocal ex-players but also from BoT's themselves and our local source THO who works in Shalalalalalalalalalala's office.

The "banner" proper might not have been the only influence but it certainly contributed to the pressure due to it's overwhelming national coverage.

Was it the banner by itself? Probably not.

Did the banner contribute to the pressure? Only an idiot would deny that.

Are you insinuating that the coaches didn't make "ignore the noise" t-shirts for the players as a direct response to the banner? Are you insinuating that the play calling and execution hasn't changed since their "ignore the noise" movement? Pretending that this staff hasn't noticed the banners and ridicule(candy canes) and reacted to it is just folly.

Reading comprehension isn't your thing is it? Nowhere did I insunate that they looked up to the sky and suddenly changed there mind, in fact I was quite clear in my point. It was the restless fans, the media asking questions, the former players speaking out, and yes, the banner. It was the heat in general that forced this change and the banner was certainly a part of that.

From the admin's perspective, they hate the banner. HATE IT. They thought it was childish and did more harm for the profile of the school as a whole rather than just football.

That being said, it was just a tangible face to how some of the fanbase felt. The banner itself did not make Al change up everything all of a sudden. It was just one more drop of pressure added to the steady amount that Al was already feeling. 3 years of pressure from the fanbase, 6 months of pressure from the media, 1.5 months of pressure from the admin, and Golden being aware that what had been attempted wasn't working is what made him change.

Hopefully the focus here being that Golden recognized changes were needed is what is taken out of this, whether completely voluntary or slightly coerced. Credit should be given to him. He still had to make the change and thus far he has.

I'll acquiesce that he's actually made some changes when we beat Fsu

Fair enough. Let me clarify.

For the Duke, Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, and North Carolina games, he made effective changes on defense that were instrumental in the team winning.

How's that?
