I know this has been asked before but why doesn’t B Smith play more. He’s so explosive.
Had I included an "Honorable Menrtion" I would have chosen himLB Mauigoa also worthy of consideration.
When you’re down double digits in the 4th quarter, the other team knows you’re probably not running. Not so sure the pass blocking was all that bad last game - haven't rewatched the UNC game though. Like pressures while it can definitely be a good stat to use, is also not adjusted for time to throw. Just to illistrate that point - if you have a QB that won't throw the ball within 3 seconds, yeah the Oline is going to give up more pressure than a QB that is getting the ball out in 2.5s on majority of throws. Same OLine performing the exact same in both situations could get trashed for high pressures in situation A but praise for low pressures in situation B. Now imo that's relevant because I think it was pretty evident (live at least) that it seemed TVD was REALLY holding on to the ball a while and refusing to take any checkdown all game long. Now if we are giving up 19 pressures EVERY GAME, imo that would obviously signal that the OLine is the problem. But the fact that we're not and live it looked to me more like TVD was kinda causing some of those problems, and I'd lean towards maybe the Oline only had an average day...
Dude has been a revelation after last yearyup he made the list.
good list.My best players so far thru 6
Offense
TVD: Lights out first 4 games, Gtech terrible, Unc 3rd quarter bad
X: Most consistent, need more players like him but more talented tho of course
George: My favorite wr on the team, think he should be featured more, move him around in the slot, X is playing too many snaps..He’s probably been our most explosive player since Brashard on limited snaps
Oline: Big jump, UNC game was a fall off from the first 5, us having two new tackles showed alot. Hopefully its an outlier cause clemson and fsu edges are just as good if not better but they raised the teams floor tremendously
Parrish: In a room that is probably our least talented on offense, he has been consistent..Does everything at an OK level..Pass blocking bas been great
Defense
Porter Jr: CB1, i hope he comeback next year but he’s playing himself into the draft. Probably our most consistent player on defense, doesn’t get targeted alot cause the other 2 corners are mid but he’s been lockdown for the most part.
Bain: Literally our only pass rush threat as a true freshman. Has been as good as we all thought he would, gonna love watching him get even better this is just the beginning. Just a side note, he’s been our best edge so far but man at 3tech he would wreck games for us
James: Been consistent not great, couple mistakes here and there but I really like the player he has become..Clean up the mental lapses and we good
Andy: 25/26 on fgs, can’t ask for nothing more
colbie? he has all the tools but still is raw. needs polish and confidence. he still makes plays but should be our #1 wrYoung has been a big disappointment so far Imo
Very true but I'm nowhere near giving up on the kid. He has so many tools and skills to work with but he is still raw and that shows. It also prevents him from shining as brightly as he could. Young needs to attack the off-season and put in a ton of work. That work will pay off next season.Young has been a big disappointment so far Imo
He’s not getting thrown to. And then he hurt his legYoung has been a big disappointment so far Imo
Great list and I agree. Andy 25/26 FGs is even more impressive when you learn that the one miss was from 54 yards out. The kid has been the very definition of consistency. My best players so far thru 6

Id be disappointed if we dont see devonte get more snaps.Been calling for them to put some of jaden snaps outside to at slot. We already dont have a pass rush so if we cant get home and a starting corner weakness is the deep ball thats free points for some teamsGreat list and I agree. Porter has been the lone bright spot in the CB room thus far. We need to take a look at other CBs like Jadais Richard, Damari Brown, Robert Stafford, and Demetrius Freeney. At this point I don't see the reason why we keep trotting the same guys out there.
He’s dropped balls and fumbled . His leg has nothing to do with his hands. He’s earned his targets so far. Make plays, catch the ball and targets magically go up.He’s not getting thrown to. And then he hurt his leg
Nah, not giving up , he’s still a tad raw and needs work with route running and knowing how to use his body. Horton is coming on so he’s going to take somebody's snaps. People in that room better step it up.Very true but I'm nowhere near giving up on the kid. He has so many tools and skills to work with but he is still raw and that shows. And he just doesn’t separate like X and George do, he’s left some plays out there but I think his numbers are pretty good thru mid season. He’s dropped balls and fumbled . Separation in man is an issue and teams are running more two deep. And he just doesn’t separate like X and George do, he’s left some plays out there but I think his numbers are pretty good thru mid season.
Really all of our WRs numbers are good, and if we compare it to dawson other stops the ball is getting spread
