The issue with your scenario is there will be no other schools. FSU and clemson will be in P2 as well along with UNC and a few others. So unless you think big 12 plus miami, maybe VT, and Louisville or NCST is enticing some big payout from someone? Plus the P2 arms race is just beginning. The sport has no cap. We're about to be 70M+ a year behind every P2 school in a recruiting landscape thats already full of overpays according to this board. Finally, and most importantly, what is the big10 going to do to harm miami? Give us double our media payout, better viewership and access to sponsors? Oh the horror!! Those fiends! If you're worried about lawsuits then someone should see the duke case or ask wisconsin how its going. Miami is big10 bound. Its when not if. The school's entire strategy hinges on it. Not just athletics

No reason why FSU, VT, UL, SMU and Miami at a minimum couldn’t go to the Big 12. together.

The B1G will treat us like Tobacco Road treated us but worse as these guys will pass rules restricting us on the recruiting side.

But I get it. I understand that we are likely to go to the B1G. I think it’s not the place you guys think. We’ll see who’s right after 5 years or so in that conference.

Except that 3 of those schools you mentioned have spent years preparing for a move to sec/big10 and have 0 interest in the big12. Its survival right now. The ship is headed to the iceberg and theres only so many life boats. Luckily miami is prepared.

I get it believe me. I just don’t like leaving one ****** situation for another. The Big 12 looks like a place we’d be treated fairly. I do not believe we will be treated well in the B1G but like I said, we’ll go there and see 5 years later if I’m right or you’re right. And no I’m not looking to bump this in 10 years if I’m right. lol. Just my opinion

As I mentioned, thinking he does not have the ability to be a great A.D. based upon his stint with the Panthers shows how dumb people really are. These are the same types of people who think a guy like Elon Musk can’t be successful because he doesn’t have all the right engineering degrees, well…

Why do we have to secure NIL funding? We already have plenty.

Get us into the Big 10
Hire a new baseball coach
Hire a new women's basketball coach
Build more facilities
Add more sports
Re-sign with Nike
Get rid of Legends

That's a pretty long to-do list.

I've known Steve O'Donnell for a long time. Good guy. Both he and Steve Phelps came from the Marketing Department, but O'Donnell has been with NASCAR for longer, since the 1990s. Phelps was the guy who appeared on Undercover Boss.

I'm closer to the guys in Finance, including the VP (going all the way back to my Arthur Andersen days) and the EVP-CFO.

Lay down your bets now, O'Donnell will be succeeded (down the road) by Ben Kennedy.

I agree in jointing the Big 12 at this point. We’d play a really good conference basketball schedule as well. As of right now, three teams in Texas which can help us expand our footprint there in all sports. I’d imagine a mass exodus of the ACC, SMU would probably be top of the Big 12’s list as well. Plus that conference seems to fit our brand a lot more than the Big 10.

I’d imagine UL, SMU and us could all seamlessly move to the Big 12. UL basketball, us football, SMU fits the geography side of almost too well. We’d have to fight the Texas schools for superiority across the board, but I feel the Big 12 would gladly get on their knees for us as opposed to the Big 10.
