Michael Yormark AD?

Over the past few years, we have increasingly been outsourcing various "Athletic Department" functions to Legends Hospitality, the company formed by Jerry Jones.

This company has been taking over more and more of the functions that were once a part of the Athletic Department.

Here is an article from 2023 when we EXPANDED the Legends "partnership":

Here is another article from 2026 when we gave Legends MORE of our Athletic Department functionality:

It looks like the Legends agreements CURRENTLY run through 2028, with a 3-year option to extend. So we could be in business with them for another 5 years.

This is why people have a hard time reaching "Hurricane Club" or "a ticket representative". I can't give all the details here on the board, but there has been a lot of "disagreement" about how various things are being handled.

Rad is not peacefully "retiring". And a lot of people have "moved on" from longtime roles they held at UM.

Fill in the blanks.
I was thinking of an entirely different "Legends".

So Miami not fuccin then? Not mak'n it rain!?

We suck again.

yes they also had the likes of Miguel Cotto, but in terms of being a boxing promoter -- they were a disaster, LOL

BTW, I actually sat in front of Yormark and his wife at the Fiesta Bowl. They were cool, really into the game. The wife actually watches the CIS podcast believe it or not
The wife sounds amazing, let her be AD

You guys are really bringing back childhood memories for me. I don't want to derail the thread, but all those '70s shows were some really classic tv shows that you just don't get anymore. Streets of San Francisco also has one of the best opening theme songs ever next to the movie Magnificent Seven (very different styles).

If you list Adam 12, you also have to include Emergency (I still remember that entire opening). This one was during the '60s, but I watched all of the Wild Wild West reruns during the '70s. Also Starsky and Hutch had one of the best character names of all time in Huggy Bear. Also I lived off the Six Million Dollar Man episodes, as I still remember that entire opening as well.

As for comedies, you couldn't beat Sanford and Son and Chico and the Man, but some of the best television were those Dean Martin celebrity roasts and the Flip Wilson show. I could go on forever about that era -- some of the best music ever, and the worst clothing style of all time. I still have horrible school photos with that awful polyester clothing that I hope never see the light of day!
I just saw this post and I about jumped out of my chair when I read "Emergency." What an awesome show. Childhood fave of mine for sure.
Starsky and Hutch also awesome.

If you listened to Mike Ryan on the pod a couple days talking about his time/experience with the Panthers under Yormark, I don't know how you could possibly support us hiring him. The Panthers were (allegedly) on the verge of collapsing as a franchise. Yormark was an egomaniacal dicc to his staff (allegedly). Can people change over time? Sure, I guess. However, there's a reason why lenders run a credit report when you want to obtain financing - past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior.

That said, I'd like to see Jim Frevola.

Gotta be careful with these types. Yeah, they'll bring in money and modernize the operation, but they also tend to take the game from the fans and in favor of a more "premium" experience. Don't be surprised to see significant increases in ticket prices and season tickets. Hope I'm wrong on that front and will happily admit so if it turns out I am.

On the other end, we definitely will be on the forefront of NIL and revenue deals. Recruiting will go to another dimension.
With the way CFB has been compromised, PPV is coming for huge PT games .

Every year we see everyone scrambling for accessibility to certain games , big brother sees big money to be made it fans viewing pleasure.

Ticket prices to explode close to doubling as it gets closer to this the only other way to pay everyone there BAG which has no limits no matter what the NCAA says because they made it this way and the money is bigger then the NCAA .

The NCAA is only there to regulate the game itself with rule changes, they already lost control of BAG , portal and NIL it’s to late to reel it all in it’s grbigger then them now.

Not me I don’t give a hoot, they want the big money players money.

I'd also point out that Mike Ryan is a Golden Cane.

You should listen to David Lake discuss Yormark on his podcast. Makes Mike Ryan sound like a fan of Yormark. It’s blistering. Basically saying he has zero track record of sponsorships. It would basically tie us to the Big 12 which would crush recruiting. And most importantly would never get along with Mario- which is one of the most important things for an AD. He highlighted Jimbo’s toxic relationship with FSU’s athletic director and no matter what we think of him he’s a big time coach. He’s saying the formula in major college sports having a big time coach and the coach gets to pick his guy. At the end of the day you need a coach who delivers. And Yormark turns people off, has no results and Miami should go anywhere but him.

It’s amazing that he would go so out on a limb.

I haven't heard David Lake, but the bolded and enlarged (pause) part is the single most important factor. Rule #1 of being AD at Miami - GTF out of Mario's way with zero exceptions. I've been critical of Dan Rad, mostly because I thought he mailed in his time here. However, the thing he did best was stay out of Mario's way.

I think Frevola is plenty smart enough to figure that out and Jim actually has a pretty stellar track record throughout the entirety (I might be stretching it a bit there for lack of a wiki search) of his career. He's been a winner at most/all stops. He launched the Vegas Knights. Meanwhile, from what I've heard, Yormark's deals while with the Panthers largely stunk.

What’s some of the negative about this guy? Why is it that some people don’t think it’s a good idea to bring this guy on? Anyone know??
