really??

u can and do redshirt jucos. but, this kid is coming in to play right now. we don't have the luxury of recruiting and redshirting juco dts.

Why not?

Uhhggg look at our depth chart! That's why!

You just don't get it. You will by about game 6 though.

Thanks for your generalized, not to the point, response! You don't redshirt a guy with 2 years to play 2! We have garbage talent at the DT position. When Olsen Pierre is your best DT, you don't redshirt JUCO's. He might play high but the guy is a two ton boulder in the middle of the field. He learns to play lower & be consistent, he should be pretty good.

I thought he was 3 to play 2. Disregard.

I believe Bryant McKinnie and Jerome McDougle both redshirted and they were JUCOs. But we dont have that luxury this year. At the NG or DT spot, all we have is Moore, Pierre, King, and Hertoulou. Thats it IIRC. And you think we can redshirt this kid? (im not counting any Tr-Fr, its comical to think they will be able to help us this year. )

I do think that Sandland should have redshirted BUT he was the #1 JUCO TE in the country....so...yeah..he wasnt coming here to redshirt.

Fair enough. I still thought he was 3 for 2.

How Wyche and Heurtelou play will determine our W/L. I don't believe we do better than 7-5 or 8-4 if Moore and King see significant playing time. They're the DL equivalent of Highsmith and Rodgers.

He is the X-factor of the team. It's crazy to say about someone who isn't even on campus, but he might make or break this defense.

This guy has to be really good or we are in some trouble for a couple of years. That's terrifying.

If Wyche makes or breaks this defense then this defense is still broken. One decent 330 lb DT who might be able to play 30 snaps a game is not enough to take a weak defense and make it good.

Just because you decided to give up on the season before it even begins doesn't mean the coaching staff, players, or other fans will or should. Of course, if the staff did give up on the season like you are doing, then you'd be the first in line to criticize them for that as well, as that's your sole agenda.

Ideally you do but if they are in a need position, you don't. Further, the guy is a 2-2 so it would be dumb to RS him.

Mcdougle had to sit out. McKinnie was very raw and not in a position of great need and was a 2-3.

Which is a terrible position to be in. What I have learned from watching the SEC for a long time is these guys always come in out of shape. They usually come in during the spring and even then they dont start playing the well until mid season. Wyche not coming in until the summer is such a huge disadvantage
