He helped Us win that game. He instilled brotherhood, encouragement and it wasn’t dependent upon, reliant nor affected by any need for a response. I coach kid travel soccer and muni league football and these kids are different, they don’t show emotion, many don’t know how to get hyped, they are emotionally very guarded and somewhat stoic.

You can’t expect a response when motivating them, they stone or gray rock you but you must push thru and keep hyping them because it’s working. You won’t see it but it’s in there and imagine if you stopped and didn’t provide it.

My players look at me like I’m crazy, like why do care so much. But they don’t notice that they play with their hair on fire and we beat teams with better talent than us. I’ve overheard some players say things like: “this team is better than us” and “let’s at least try to score once.” Unacceptable. I attack that mindstate every practice and game. What Mike is doing is priceless. Love him to death!

Love on them now, they’ll understand later.

Irvin is some combination of unpaid assistant coach, and Flava Flav. I will always believe the is the epitome of a Miami Hurricane.

we laugh how crazy he gets but he's also coaching these kids on the sidelines. you see clips of him pulling them aside and teaching them stuff.
