Do you think manny and all his lisps would be enough if your kid was that monster he was trying to bring in? I'm gonna go no since ur head coach #1 is allowed very minimal contact with recruits. #2 is an acquired taste. This staff if manny stays around (which I feel he will) is just him learning how cutthroat **** is. If he doesnt than welcome home Mario.

That Christian Williams pull was big. He is turning it around. He needs a good class this go round as well.
Patke is a question mark..but i understand sending him to Tx camp because thats his stomping grounds.

Hickson is gonna do good for us in Broward. Our worst recruiters though are on defense..which is actually strange considering us having a good defense the last few years. From Manny go down they aren recruiters.

Christian William's was definitely big. All I'll say on that is you seem to come across some stories as well. If so u know his role in that their... far as recruiting I feel the whole staff is pretty basic. I'm okay with that though. Long as they know how to talk then the product on the field and the university sell itself. I'd probably disagree about defense being worse than offense. But I get ur jist. Hickson and fields are atleast capable. On defense its sortve a crap shoot cause it's all of mannys homeboys. On offense it's all of enos homeboys. The perks to that is enos is a very big salesman. Very personable & likeable guy. Knows his stuff too which is always great. Manny I've always laughed when people have said hes a good speaker or recruiter. People simply know no better. It is what it is at this point though.

The thing I will say about patke in Texas is (dont kill me for this one) he is a typical Texan. Hes semi funny because hes goofy as ****. I see him and instantly think howdy doody. To me that's a Texan. Sortve stumbles over his words but just smiles throughout. Some kids are plenty goofy at this stage as well. I guess the saying would be all he needs is his 45 & a 4 wheel drive.
 
The way a lot of y’all talk about this staff, I’m honestly surprised we have any commits that aren’t 2 stars fr. If they are as bad as suggested in this thread and countless others, I don’t see how we even pull a top 25 class come February...

Yes I almost hit the powerball cause I had two numbers....they didn’t give it to me though because I I got close. ....hiring someone because he ALMOST signed somebody is as stupid as saying you banged the hot chick in school because you got a hardon at home thinking about her...

Because we can’t play the big bag game other schools do we need guys that can sell themselves and the program and have the personality to close not just get kids to listen then watch them go elsewhere..

The problem is that charisma can’t be taught. Either u got it or you don’t.

Outside of specific positions on this team, I think our coaching staffs ability to recruit is a major weakness. While winning will put us in the conversation for elite kids it will eventually come down to which coach recruited the kid the best. Coach vs coach, Mano-a-Mano. Who really thinks Patke or Stubblefield is going to out recruit anyone?

Winning and bags. It’s amazing how these coaches on winning teams dropping bags all have “great personalities” and are “great”recruiters. I remember when Dabo was just an “good” recruiter. Now he’s the “goat”. When saban was at LSU he’s just “gooD” and what dude suddenly discovers his “personality” at Bama? Naw.

SABAN has no personality he just wins...and they drop some bags. But he is a great evaluator of defensive talent. And he keeps a staff of good recruiters because he doesnt have time for it.

Now Dabo...thats a recruiter...Urban Meyer thats a recruiter ...those are GOATS. Think about it Dabo was a stumbling, bumbling wr coach not too long ago..sold himself to get the HC gig...corched it up for years untill they upped the recruiting dropped some bags...and now they are somewhat on cruise control and reloading.

I’ve said it since the day Richt finalized his staff. We were very green at very critical spots.

At the time...

Manny: was a mixed bag
Kool: prove
Rumph: Hs coach green
Banda bar tender green
Hartley: Green
Jr: grad assistant green

Now its

Baker: who knows
Stroud: um what
Patke: grad assistant green
Banda: Bartender green
Rumph: Hs coach green

Hickson: who knows
Stubbs: LOL
Barry: who knows.

If we are being honest here, the is a very mediocre staff with zero to little recruiting and/or development power

I think you guys forget that Manny and his defensive staff have recruited very poorly over the past 3 seasons and almost all of our impact defensive players were Golden recruits. Not only they recruited poorly but position symmetry is all ****ed up. There are big holes that may never get corrected.

The sad part is people(especially recruits and their families) wont ever realize what happened with them and why they fell off. I'm not huge on Charlie strong but he gambled and lost bad. His career is for all intensive purposes over. He didnt think that good old boy network was real and he found out the hard way. All those old racists purposely killed off that program to get rid of the black guy... it will be back under herman. It's just a matter of time. They will get those Texans back. Those kids are born over there to be Longhorns and now the old money back in place. Think it's a game if you want to.

That’s what it seems like is helping this point. Cooney and dvd are good at what they do and can relate to kids especially south Florida guys

Those dudes over in Texas are the one funding these multi million dollar movies with that oil money, I know it's for real over there. I've seen the revenue numbers for both Texas (and A&M) and that's only what the football program generates.

It seems like a lot of programs resources mysteriously dry up when a black dude is HC. Say what u want about Willie, but I think dude can coach. The sad thing is I bet not everyone in Tallahassee agreed with having a black guy as a coach. Those will be the first ones ready to sabotage the program too. Plus I've seen videos of Willie at booster functions and he's a hit with those middle age white women (who's husbands probably donate). That's only more fuel to the fire.
 
He sounds like a bright young coaching mind. I'm willing to see if he can learn to recruit on the job.
