Brother I'm not dismissing it. But two reasons I'm speaking on this. #1 I know patke. He sortve bumbles through his words and is goofy with it in general. Good dude. Knows his ****. #2 a kid wont just blindly pay attention to a random coach because he has a title and a staff behind him. You gotta make that kid pay attention. Unless you got a powerhouse title behind you it just ain't gonna happen like that.
I agree 100% with Patke. WTF has this guy done on any level? Who has he recruited? He was sent multiple times to TX among other states last season and failed miserably. You saying he has no personality makes me really question his promotion even more. The staff is expecting difference results from last year with this guy based on what?

The WR coach at has some accolades as a player and coach that a kid with half a brain would respect. I’m not saying he can recruit or coach as the jury is out. His drills seem slow paced from the little footage we saw from the spring, but I’m not making an assessment on him yet in any category. There’s no denying his resume is superior to anyone UM has had at WR coach in a long time. He led the NCAA in career receptions, consensus all American, and coached WRs in the NFL.

We got a bunch of rookies trying to play in the big leagues and it shows every year at the end of signing day.
That's my concern on the offensive side of the ball. None of them are the most effusive of people in general let alone when talking football except enos. Hickson is sort of hit or miss once hes comfortable. Stubblefield is an acquired taste let's just say. Baker is Baker. I'm fine with that out of an ol coach I guess. Just had to see art before he gave up. He was the blueprint. Field is the only one capable of standing out for me but with him its black or white. You either like him or dont. Hes like an old Nickelodeon personality. Just BAM here I am. Enos is amazing in that capacity. Very likeable. But hes one guy. Same concern for several spots on d that are too obvious to speak on.

Now I'm getting concerned here. Two times in two days I've gotta agree with rev because he sees the obvious. It's common sense what OYR purpose would be in being there. For that to be effective we gotta have both sides of that coin covered. I wouldve sent fields probably.
Armageddon is near, D.....

Honestly I think we gotta find the time to have all these coaches see counselors and listen to motivational speakers more often. A lil confidence goes a long way.
They need these guys on campus for some little talking to.

Patke is a TEXAN. That goes far with some players, sometimes, that may be part of the angle to send him.

And another reminder that Patke was the one who got us as far as we got with that Texas kid -Keondre Coburn- last cycle. I can recall reading interview recaps where other kids mentioned Patke and expressed that they liked him. Maybe his personality does click more with kids - or he has a "recruiting" persona that he wears. He gets a lot of respect from Manny from everything I have read.

Almost is worthless in recruiting. Nobody should get credit for the guys they "almost" recruit here. Only signatures count.

Is this the kind of situation where Manny's charisma, speaking ability, and social media savvy can make up for the shortcomings of guys like Patke? Or is Manny not enough? Just feels like it's still amateur hour in some respects inside Hecht. Hopefully the recruiting support staff helps to make up for any shortcomings as well.

Well that's a waste of an opportunity. He has the personality of a wall flower. Honestly I'd rather have one of those glade plug ins with the lavender scent. Hes an xs&os sort but to have him in that capacity I dont think is a good look.

I was about to ask @dsddcane what he thinks of Patke but I got my answer lol
