Keys to the game:
1. Eliminate yards after contact and yards after the catch. The reason they are so hard to stop is because they have the athletes to exploit one on one matchups. If you miss a tackle, that's a 30 yard play. They will get guys open in the passing game. We need to get those guys on the ground immediately.
2. Do NOT give Lawrence time to go through his progressions. We need to keep constant pressure on him, flush him from the pocket on every drop back and take away the outlet (Etienne). If he makes a 30 yard pass downfield on the run, then so be it. Make him do that all game. If he takes off running, so be it. Make him go head to head with our safeties again and again. I guarantee you our safeties will make him pay.
3. Win the field position battle. Let's face it, they're gonna score. Nobody stops them. We need to make them earn every point by forcing them to drive the length of the field. The more plays they run, the more opportunities our defense has at making a havoc play.
4. Keep the pressure on them by maintaining the tempo/momentum and scoring every time we cross midfield. We're not gonna score on every possession, but we need to make our opportunities count. Field goals will not win us the game but we have to make sure we don't miss field goals. The worst thing we can do is come away empty on a scoring opportunity. Missing a FG from the 40 yard line is like handing them the ball in scoring position. They will take the advantage, and once they do that it's ballgame.
