Lagway was limping at the end of that LSU game and Florida’s DL seems to be depleted. We might see a lot of Jaden Baugh tmrw and they’re gonna have to make every possession count because if their DL is as thin as it seems it’s wraps tbh

That was the elevator speech they gave him his first day on the job.
He's treading lightly.

Sumrall's a good Defensive minded Coach, but he fuxked up taking this job.

Florida is a dead end job, pretty much every Coach not named Urby Myer fails there & ends up fired. UF is a bottom rung SEC program, there's not much difference between them & teams like Arkansas, Miss ST, Kentucky etc, except they will occasionally spend more money, but the results are basically the same.

He'll be outta there in 3 years. Book it.

He knows whats best for him.

Speak of the Devil, and he shall appear

Florida doesn't even really have that strong of a rivalry with LSU, at least not in recent years.

Their top rivals are, FSU, Miami, UGA & Tennessee.

I guess given Sumrall's Tulane connection they threw LSU in there, but historically, UF has always had a much more heated rivalry with Tenn.

He had no choice but to downplay the Miami rivalry, because he understands we've completely lapped them & they're not on our level any longer.

Precisely! He avoided that proverbial can of worms like the plague

We might not even play these dudes during his tenure unless it’s in the playoffs. Ain’t no telling how long them gators going to stay ducking us hurricanes.

Yeah, the only way that game will be played going forward is in the playoff or in a lower bowl. They'll play 9 conference games and FSU with a G6 and FCS every year.

As an aside, pleasantly surprised Miami was even mentioned. A guy in his 30's at work is a gator and to him it's FSU, UGA, and Tennessee. It's been 40 years now since they played every year. Hard to gather that much hate. The older guys know how it is though.

Heard Mario say in an interview something to the effect of he thinks it’s criminal that Miami and UF don’t play every year so at least I know on our end he is trying to get it back on the schedule no matter what.

Just checked, and UF has UCF or ND scheduled for 2030 thru 2034 smdh. They have a G6 and FCS in 2027 then a home & home series scheduled with Colorado in ‘28 and ‘29.

Wouldn’t mind scheduling UCF ourselves though; but i def want that smoke with UF. Seems like the earliest that could happen is 9 years from now (2035). Otherwise, we’d need them to schedule us the years they have 1 of Colorado/ND/UCF + FSU.

Im a younger fan however I still felt the rivalry because UF was the most recent team to win it all when i was growing up and became a ‘Canes fan, the U documentaries; and then the anticipation to get revenge in the 2013 game after losing in 08. My friends who went to UF in their early 30s feel more of the rivalry because they have CFB loving friends who are also ‘Cane fans; but the FSU game / SEC hierarchy is what they live for.
