Who are our top three perimeter marksmen? Right now, I'd say:
1. Malovec
2. Washington
3. Dante Allen
Malovec has the best 3 point stroke but can he get his shot against top competition? HIs handle is questionable and he's strictly a spot and shoot guy at this point.
Washington looks fine. Doesn't particularly look for the perimeter shot though. May need to become more of a higher volume outside shooter than we've seen thus far.
I include Allen mainly because he shows a lot of confidence in taking longer-range shots. Looks like enough will fall to include him in this top three.
Do I wish Lucas could have found a proven outside sharpshooter to take, yes. But that's a moot point now.
Why do I care about 3 point shooting? Today's game -- college and pro -- demands it. There are plenty of teams full of shooters who can rain threes on you. Gotta be able to counter and not just have to trade threes for two point baskets. Vital to being able to play from behind as well.
