****Miami vs. Elon GAME THREAD****

Altuntas with a breakout performance - 7 points and 4 boards!

In all seriousness, really nice 2nd half. We dominated the glass, forced a ton of turnovers, and made them pay in transition. Was nice to see Dante Allen hitting some 3’s - we really need some outside shooting threats to emerge.

Another win over an overmatched opponent. #11 is still TERRIBLE. I'm convinced he would be a middling player at my weekly run at The Y. Everything looks bad when he does it, he has arguably the worst basketball awareness i've ever seen. I get that he's a project, but he reminds me of Glenn Batemon and that's not a good thing.

Defensive intensity was lacking for stretches tonight, and that's the issue with being a defensive team. If you don't bring that same energy night after night, your team will struggle. I don't know if this team will be able to bring a high level of intensity to every game, especially once we get to the dog days of conference play. We don't have the depth needed to wholesale sub, which is the most efficient way to get guys back into it, nothing motivates a player like spending some time on the bench...

Not having Udeh hurt some for sure. Agree though, we have no frontcourt depth.

Miami men’s basketball had five players score in double figures as it rolled to a 99-72 victory over Elon on Thursday inside the Watsco Center.

The Hurricanes (4-1) took a 48-41 lead into the half as Shelton Henderson and Tru Washington combined for 25 points on 11-for-14 shooting. Henderson connected on six of his eight attempts while Washington was 5-for-6 from the floor to go along with a team-high five rebounds.

Miami led 31-30 with just over five minutes remaining on the half before going on a 9-0 run to extend the lead to double digits. Henderson scored back-to-back layups before Malik Reneau converted an and-one. Henderson capped off the run with another layup following a Tre Donaldson steal.

The Hurricanes open the second half on a 13-3 run, leading 61-44, with 16:33 left in the game. The run was highlighted by a pair of threes from Dante Allen and a deep ball from Washington.

Elon (3-2) cut the lead to nine, 68-59, before Miami extended its lead back to 18 on a 15-6 run. Miami’s advantage swelled to as high as 25 in the waning minutes after an 11-1 spurt before taking a 28-point lead, its highest of the game.

Five players scored in double figures for the third time this season led by Washington, who registered his third-career double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Donaldson added 18 while Reneau had 17. Henderson recorded a season-high 16 and Dante Allen registered 14.

The Hurricanes connected on a season-high nine 3-pointers and finished the game shooting 54.5-percent from the floor. Miami outrebounded the Phoenix, 38-22, dominated the paint, 54-28, and forced a season-high 18 turnovers.

Miami returns to the Watsco Center on Sunday at 1 p.m. as it takes on Delaware State. The game can be seen live ACC Network Extra.

He was literally playing with Shane Larkin the last two years lmao. Dude is working himself back from an injury; hadn’t played for months

GB had 3 points during his only Miami season as a 4th year transfer. Already better than him.

So if my count is right; Timotej played with 5 current D1 players last year. Will be interesting to see how this crop of Mega players turn out.

Mihailo Petrović; currently on Illinois

Ilija Milijasevic; currently on DePaul

Sergej Macura; currently on Miss State

Andrija Jelavic; currently on Kentucky

Filip Jovic; currently on Auburn

Younger teammates: Jack Kayil; Class of ‘26 pg going to Gonzaga. Two other guys still on that team in Urban Kroflic and Ognjen Srzentic may go straight to the draft or sign with a program later on.

Mixed bag for the kids in college so far but Timotej is our best shooter & we will need him during ACC play.

I'll take the win.

Good game by Shelton
Is it me or do I actually prefer the lineup with Dante starting over Udeh
FTs still need work
