I completely agree with you . . . As to the Canes and Heat. But for some reason even with all their success, the Dolphins never became a national brand IMO. The Marlins of course won’t be a national brand as they either win a World Series or are terrible. But the Dolphins have been good to very good since Marino (of course greeat in the early 70’s), but never have seemed to catch on.
I always wondered how a pro city could have a college team with a bigger national brand than the pro team. I don’t think the same exists in any other city unless you count USC. But for years they were literally the only team in town (UCLA football does not count).
Most people under 40 weren’t alive or old to remember how powerful the logo was. There is a reason why we were the first program that Nike chose to wear their gear. The Fab 5 of Michigan was rocking Canes gear in that same 90-94 period you mentioned.
43 here. Earliest memory of Canes I have which started it for me was 1989, Canes 27, Notre Dame Fighting Irish 10Most people under 40 weren’t alive or old to remember how powerful the logo was. There is a reason why we were the first program that Nike chose to wear their gear.
Not Michigan, not notre dame, not Alabama, not Oklahoma.
It was us.
Hate views are views tooUnpopular take - people are watching to solely see us lose. If we have a loss, I suspect our viewership to drop.
