I still think that it is exceedingly likely that they fire D'Onofrio soon. Logic dictates that they have to. The gentleman that we spoke to about JC Jackson and Kaaya said that they had a low level staff member telling people that we were set at QB and were going to sign one more big name - JC.
Christmas Day, my brother spoke with someone on the BOT. He is a big fan, but not a fanatic. He stated that Golden said "D'Onofrio and I are a package deal." He felt that the administration would recommend firing D'Onofrio, but that they would let Golden make the ultimate decision. He also said that if Golden retained the DC, and his decision failed miserably, Golden could potentially cost himself a job. Supposedly, the Donors were furious about the Duke game. Golden lost substantial credibility with that loss. This conversation occurred prior to the Louisville loss.
I spoke with 2 other Board of Trustees members, AND THEY DID NOT EVEN KNOW THAT UM WAS PLAYING IN A BOWL. These two guys abhor the football team and feel that is it preventing UM from becoming a top-25 school.
