Georgia has not recruited in state that great TBH. They struggle with local kids kinda like we do

Georgia is an interesting mix.

There are definitely local kids who grow up in the "Dawgs" bubble, and are accustomed to think about UGa first.

But one of my long-time friends from ATL (long before I moved to ATL) has always told me about how many former athletes retire to this area and raise their kids here. Thus, a lot of these "talented GA kids" are not as beholden to UGa as we might think, and it's not just limited to the big schools on the north side of ATL.

Just recently, F$U got a commit from a kid (F$U legacy) who plays at Douglasville High, which is farther outside of the Beltway and is fairly close to Carrollton. Without his dad's connection to F$U, you would otherwise expect this kid to pick UGa.

it cant hurt, i mean we won last year and lost cooper and a ton of guys. Difference so far to me is the evals over anything else and the teaching.
i'm just speculating, but i wonder if the perception with recruits last year was more that cam ward elevated us, whereas this year is more of a testament to the state of the program overall.

I'm relatively sure its a combo of two consecutive 10 win seasons combined with a CFP appearance. Bonus points for winning the opening round.

Recruits feel safer knowing it wasn't a flash in the pan ala 2017.

Following Miami all these years and not knowing what it was to win I had no clue wtf I was talking about......it looks like it has helped and there is no way it can hurt. Secondly I would still say we got or main faces when we were still a **** program, so its possible without winning you can be an elite recruiter. This can take the man to the next level, I wanted us to creep into tier one and I always said I still felt like we were tier two on the trail and as a program. We are finally a tier one run program from top to bottom, this wont end well for college football. Enjoy this feeling of getting back to the realm of winners cause it wont ever happen again, we will stay back and be arrogant pricks about it. Because we all cane fans and its who we are, the bad guy.

I would love this commitment. BUT…..a top 5 player in Georgia…is a hard pull from UGA. Cautiously optimistic if we can hold on in this recruitment. I just moved to Buford in Atlanta area and I see the pull for these kids to stay in state. Fingers crossed on Jacobs and Matthews
Nah it aint hard. UGA routinely loses top players instate. This isnt anything new

everybody was saying it was just because of cam. They all thought we would fall off after he left
