I think when you have the 2nd best QB in the ACC, and a veteran roster, top 3 possibly DL in the league, 9-10 win season is possible.

Remember schedule is easier next season imo.

We get FSU at home, drop clemson for nc state.

Get Duke and UNC and Pittsburgh at home.

Also if we get a legit S&C our players should be stronger better shape.

Richt calling plays vs. Coley is a big upgrade imo.

Diaz imo is a big upgrade in style for our personel as a DC too.

When i see that depth chart, i see a really solid starting unit on both sides. Only really missing the LT.

The real problems happen with the backups. Golden left us high and dry at CB and S, and the depth there is atrocious. LB depth is also dependent on true FR but at least we've recruited 3 EE studs there. OL depth is a complete cluster**** right now as is WR depth.

What is it with these shi**ty coaches that leave the next coach with massive depth problems at skill positions like WR and DB???? I mean, ****, Shannon had no depth at WR. Golden got some chili dog nerd from Wake Forest play HUGE minutes for us at CB. Now Richt is gonna have to deal with possibly having Terrence Henley or Robert freaking Knowles log minutes for us if we suffer a couple injuries at CB or S.

I still cannot understand how we can have so much trouble recruiting freaking WRs and DBs in S Fl.

I worry about one thing: are the young tackles ready to play upfront offensively? To me, that's paramount. Bar Milo and/or Tyree St Louis better have made some jumps these past few months. SAy what you will about T.Gadbois, he was sorely missed( especially by Kaaya)...

Our big problem areas this year are WR and DB, and LB depth and OL inexperience.
We are getting 3 absolute beasts at LB this year, 2 of which (McCloud and Shaq) can definitely make an impact immediately.
So LB likely will not be a problem this year.
That only leaves the DBs as the question on defense. Corn is one starting CB. Jamal Carter, Jaquan Johnson, and Jenkins should be fine as our safeties, but we still lack depth there, so that is an area of concern, however we have our starters. So That means we have a big hole at CB. Redwine is most likely to take the other spot opposite Corn. Byrd is probably good enough to start as a freshman. Also we could always go JUCO.

As for offense, WR is a question, but If Coley stays, this position is much less concerning, especially since Sam Bruce is a Stud and can start immediately. If we can get Ahmmon Richards to reccommit, he also can start day 1, the kid is a savage. And after watching the UA AA game, if Mullins can get in, he could be a major player for PT too. Luckily for us, WR is a easier position for freshman to come in and make an impact. And even if we miss out on some recruits, Cager should be able to step up, and we could always move Trayone Gray to WR.
Now the most concerning thing on our entire team is our OL. We sucked last year. And it is crucial for us to give Kaaya time and open up holes for Yearby and Walton (Hopefully Gus sees limited PT). Lets hope that the reason we weren't good was inexperience. We had a young OL. I think Linder is the most solid of them all. But even thought they are young these guys are going to have to step the **** up. On offense we will only be as good as our OL allows us to be.

Overall though we have a solid team. Easily more talent still than almost every team in the ACC, only team definitely better is Clemson. **** even with Al Golden we got close to beating FSU. If FSU is more talented than us it isn't by much. If this was Richts 2nd year and we had this exact team I'd definitely be calling for 10 wins. But since its an entire new staff, and they have to completely erase Golden and his scheme from these kids, 8-9 wins is more likely. This year though, I'm sure most would be happy with 9 wins and beating FSU; Id rather that happen than reach 10 wins and lose to FSU again...

Fix the OL and get the DL to play aggressive. Job number 1 and 2. We have one of the best QBs in the country, decent tailbacks and skill players. And D we need better players in the secondary. I expect us to be around where Michigan performed this season, but playing in the ACCCG.

Some fans are unrealistic. Thought that *** whooping by Clemson would have told us that the talent isn't here like it needs to be....

So you think if we had equal coaching to Clemson there would be the same result?

I won't speak for him but coaching doesn't lose the game 58-0.. coaching will lose the game, but not by 8 touchdowns. The players were over matched physically, athletically, and were not as talented. They also had no heart and gave up immediately.

With Richt at the helm or another good coach yea it would have been much closer but Clemsons players are simply better than ours

we have the talent to win right away.

Don't need 2 cycles. We will have the best qb in college football next year.

We have enough talent this second to be a top 5-10 team . We need more depth to be a playoff team . But we are close.

Clemson has out recruited us badly the last few years. We need to close the gap. We have the better HC....although he is 1-1 vs Dabo.

You will be crucified on here for saying this, but I agree with you. I think a lot of people on this board over-rate our talent. If you look at Rivals recruiting rankings - which are not biased toward south Florida high school kids - we've not done well enough to be the team we want to be, and even this years class leaves a lot to be desired.

Somehow Richt needs to find a way to improve our recruiting

I'm not saying Clemson's players aren't better than ours, I'm saying with a real coach the results would have been different. Probably would have lost by a touchdown or two.

Isn't it the coaches' job to prepare the players physically athletically and to motivate them?

A big part of oline is experience and cohesiveness. The line will be improved just from that standpoint. A new oline coach and offensive coordinator with some younger guys pressing the older guys will make this unit better.

You guys saying we have enough talent right now are drinking orange and green Kool-Aid.

First ,you can not predict how current players will play in the future so you look at how they did this year.

The All-ACC team has 66 position players (1st, 2nd and 3rd string for O and D). We have 3 players on that team, non of which are on the 1st team. How is that an abundance of talent?
