Miami starting the Heisman advertising

The best overall player is Mali, no question, bar none, end of story. The Heisman is essentially a QB trophy which will make it VERY hard for him to win, especially with his QB teammate sitting in NY next to him. My God, how cool would it be to have two finalists though!
Thats why they might split and hurt each other.. Have someone sneak and take it.. Sucks.. Lets see how ND plays out and just push chips all in on who does there thing there..

And for the record, there will be no split vote.

I'll go on ahead and say it, but if #1 gets to NY, he will be winning. Hes one of the rare Miami players loved by even those who hate The U.

If Mali has more games like he did against Pitt, he would get my vote over Mensah. For the shier fact that Mensah throws it to him in the flats and he makes people looks silly.

Agree with the consensus on this thread. IMO, Mali needs to pass JS’s counting stats by the end of the year. He really should given the OSU QB situation.

Mali and Mensah are both deserving to be there. The answer despite Mali being the better football player is Mensah. If he continues on this pace he would shatter the completion % record right? His yards and TDs would be insanely higher too if he played the full games. He also has the greater overall impact on the game because he delivers the ball and have you seen our Oline lol? Is Mali on pace to break the single season receiving record or TDs?

Wait let’s just let Mensah win it this year because we have To ye back next year to break his own records…right?

I'm torn....but if we had to pick between Mensah or Mali, I think I prefer Mensah to win it. Could convince another elite portal QB to come next season and we know thats the most important position on the field. Mali still has another opportunity next season.
Technically, so does Mensah if he wants it

It's going to be tough with them splitting votes, and with Miami being Miami, there are some voters who will refuse to put either of them on their ballot in any position. Ru Paul actin' beat writers.
I mean this ‘could’ be true BUT USC 2004 Leinart won it and 2005 Reggie Bush and so there is record of 2 candidates from a single school and THE guy winning it.

If Smith doesn't fall off because of a new QB, I feel like Mali needs to do something beyond pass catching against Notre Dame, like return a punt.

I don't actually want this to happen because I feel like plays like this often backfire for players trying to win the Heisman (Dorsey in 2002 against VT)...BUT...if Mali were to throw a TD pass against Notre Dame, that would probably seal it for him.
Ugh the pick 6 the other way, 14 pt swing. Iirc didn’t matter as that was the McGahee 6 TD game.
