Miami starting the Heisman advertising

With two legit contenders on the same team they end up hurting one another because they split votes of the friendly voters Same thing happened with Dorsey and Willis.
I refuse to believe this. I prefer to believe Toney/Mensah will be like Mr. Inside and Mr. Outside for Army after WW2.

(or)

If we beat ND in South Bend and are 13-0 going into playoffs and Ohio State stumbles again (very possible with a QB who ain't ready) ...

Also, Mensah is a terrific QB for sure, but Mali is 1-of-1.

NFL superstars like Michael Irvin and Reggie Wayne -- who would know -- are calling MT1 the best receiver in school history. Hard to ignore testimony like that.

It just seems like it's gonna be Mali vs. JJ when it comes down to it

Miami starting the Heisman advertising

Last Friday:

UM sports marketing: "Coach Cristobal, we've made this really nice Heisman promo video for Malachi Toney and Darien Mensah. Umm, if it's not too much trouble, would you mind padding those guys stats against Pitt ... y'know, like they've been doing at Ohio State all season"

Mario: (nods affirmatively)

If Smith doesn't fall off because of a new QB, I feel like Mali needs to do something beyond pass catching against Notre Dame, like return a punt.

I don't actually want this to happen because I feel like plays like this often backfire for players trying to win the Heisman (Dorsey in 2002 against VT)...BUT...if Mali were to throw a TD pass against Notre Dame, that would probably seal it for him.

It's going to be tough with them splitting votes, and with Miami being Miami, there are some voters who will refuse to put either of them on their ballot in any position. Ru Paul actin' beat writers.

In the end it’s unlikely they’re going to actually split votes. Mali is absolutely Heisman caliber and deserving consideration, but the moment he has a quiet game, his odds shrink. Mali can have an “off” game or two, while Mensah still has a good night statistically, but the opposite is less likely to occur.

In the end it’s going to come down to the Notre Dame game.

My prediction is that if we win it, Darian Mensah will win the Heisman trophy.

I'm torn....but if we had to pick between Mensah or Mali, I think I prefer Mensah to win it. Could convince another elite portal QB to come next season and we know thats the most important position on the field. Mali still has another opportunity next season.
We still need to convince portal qbs?! **** man

How bout Mensah this year and Mali next year win, split the difference
