This is a darkhorse candidate for the HC position. Losing 9 starters on defense last year. Now have one of the best defenses in the country. He is a younger coach with some swagger and I think he will be a good fit.

Butch!!!!! What is so hard to understand. Don't be impressed by any assistant coach who beat the crap out of Al.

In the state the program is in we can't take coordinators. Can't risk it.
Has to be a HC already. We need to see substance.
 
GIve me a Herman as a head Coach and a Butch Davis as "Assistant Head Coach"/ Defensive Coordinator/ Recruiting Coordinator. In reality he would oversee the defense and be heavily involved in recruiting. The " Assistant Head Coach would be an honorary title . Dont tell me that with hermans power O and Butch's recruiting skills and ties to the community that Miami will not be whippin fools! # CANOLYDREAM
 
No. We need someone who's been a HC before. He is a good DC, though....

They need to pick the best guy.

Only 2 coordinators have won the title since 2001: Chizik and Jimbo.

BOTH had Heisman winning NUMBER ONE OVERALL draft pick QBs.

Both have been mediocre or in Chizik's case, worse, without said QBs.

Statistically, 85% of national title winners this century have had prior HC experience, outside the two men and their bought and paid for QBs.

NO COLLEGE COORDINATORS.

I'd be happy with a Butch return BUT it's not going to happen ! UNC, no matter what Butch says about
exhoneration, is a dark cloud over his head. The BOT will not take a chance on Butch. My guess.

While this may turn out to be true, can we please stop using the word "cloud"....I don't want to think of anything having to do with the recently terminated rubbish bin coach...
