Miami set to host long list of commitments for its second OV weekend

After a successful opening weekend for Miami's official visit cycle with two commitments already announced, the Hurricanes are set to host a majority of its committed recruits in the 2027 cycle.

Only two uncommitted players will make the trip to Coral Gables starting on June 5, wide receiver Tre Moore and tight end Anthony Cartwright III.

Moore was originally set to visit for Miami's opening OV weekend before rescheduling to the second week. The 6-foot-4 wideout is down to three schools being Miami, Washington and Ohio State. At the moment it appears to be a battle between UW and UM for the Texas native as the Canes aim to land their third commitment in the Lone Star state this cycle.

For Cartwright, Miami continues to push for the Mighigan as they search for a partner for committed tight end DeMarcus DeRoche who will also be in attendance. Cartwright has already visited on multiple occasions and remarked on his "great relationship" with tight ends coach Mike Viti during his visit in April.

Headlining Miami's committed players is five-star quarterback and class ambassador Israel Abrams. The Illinois native is coming off being named the Co-Alpha Dog at the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles, Ca.

After hosting IOL commit Sean Tatum last week, UM will host its remaining two offensive lineman in the class --- Jatori Williams and Tyler Ford.

Fresh off a state championship appearance in baseball for his Poplarville side, four-star RB commit Ty Keys will make the trip from Mississippi to South Florida this weekend.

On the defensive side, the Canes will host local defensive back duo Jaylyn Jones and Sherrod Gourdine. And Miami's long list of commitments will be rounded out by Key West defensive lineman Josh Johnson and Santaluces LB/EDGE Jayvon Dawson

This list will be edited and updated as intel comes in

if Moore commits is that it at wr ? Would we take both the Cali kid and him ? Or is it the first one to jump on board ?

As above, it can only really be one.

Gonna get interesting if they both want in...

You have to make room lol hard to pass over a 6ft 3 who’s good or a 6ft 1 who can stretch the field 😂 theirs going to be a time we’ll have to send some of the kids on the current roster packing as they get beat out or aren’t making progress . I mean all positions

True I would like to take both. Its a stacked WR room already though.

If we are sticking to 20 spots however I would look at other positions or a spot for a true whale/Flip. I think it naturally just plays out we get one, one goes elsewhere.
