Can we stop with the senior tape must suck excuses.

There doesnt need to be a positive spin for every recruiting battle. You win some you lose some. Nature of the beast.

If UGA and Bama are going after him its not a fckin senior eval. I hate the need to always justify things. The kid decided he wants to be closer to home or more money, it is what it is. And sucks to lose him bc we need premium OL prospects every year. So just go out and replace him.
big time college recruiting ...

UGA would be a bit shocking cuz that’d signal they’re opening up the checkbooks like never before, right?

Alabama isn’t a big spender either but their recruiting class is literally 3nd worst in their conference and they’re still elite w/ a renewed program belief in DeBoer. They tried to get him to hold off on his commitment in the summer so it’d make sense if it were them.

Wasn’t as worried about it because we got Upshaw in the tuck and he’s thriving. C’est la vie.

Bama isn’t spending big for hs recruits because they are going big in the portal for next season. Next season will likely be Keelon’s last season there.

if isnt a drop, then someone in his circle probably told him hed get a bag from AU/Bama and in reality, as you said, they dont pay up in NIL. remember mario will also drop you if youre even thinking of shopping around. he doesnt **** around.
This is a bit relative to one’s talent level and communication. Linton Buddy got dropped cuz he was being two-faced, and Henderson wasn’t a commit.

This kid visited Auburn a month ago and there was zero noise about a possible decommit/drop from our side. Mario pursued Toney until the end, even after he flipped him back.

Ignoring the comment below for a sec, there is also a difference between shopping around and getting an insane unexpected offer. Obviously idk what is what yet.
Apparently he wants to stay closer to home
that makes sense. Thought upshaw would help there. C’est la vie.

My theory of him being a drop is probably wrong. Chalk it up to something called recruiting. Miami will find a replacement, even if Alex has to cut off his limbs.

real late in the process to replace a GUARD that size. Sheesh thats definitely hit. Throw his money at a portal Guard who has 3 years experience in S&C at power 4 conference.

excited to see joel ervin ... sean tatum still affiliated ... cannon pickett

It’s odd that posters started saying in person he doesn’t look good at all.. then he starts visits… then he decommits… not sure what to think.

I couldn’t find Ervin at the Clemson game. Is he even traveling with the team?

I’ve heard them say this as cope but that’s all it is to me lol. Elijah Haven was not an inexpensive piece. DeBoer just allocates a ton of the NIL to QB and it is what it is since that’s an important position.

Moreover, Alabama also just lost out on some guys outside of the money. Keelon wasn’t even named the starter yet (even if he was the favorite) when these recruiting battles were happening. There was a kid from Florida who straight up chose Maryland over them.

Their staff does not have good recruiters on it. They have been feeding the audience another spin about how they’re going big on the ‘28 HS class cuz they are focused on retention for ‘27. Yet two of their ‘28 commits have already decommitted lol.

They had dudes flip and top targets go on OVs then choose elsewhere. Kenneth Simon, their top LB, flipped to Tennessee. 1 outta the top 22 prospects in the state, all ranked top 500 in the country, are committed to Alabama. And it’s Trent Seaborn who is a QB basically adopted into Tua’s family. They’re just spinning the Ls they took.

this feels like a money thing ... auburn has no business getting this kid this late in the game

My move would be to start tampering after USC loses more games. They got two guys we really liked in the ‘26 class.
