Miami opens at -18.5 vs USF

I'd never say this out loud, but that OPI wasn't questionable, it was ******* egregious. A completely awful, 10000% incorrect call that took 4 points off the board.

And I loved it.
it took some dumb luck to lose that game and included two penalties on that final drive.

Also there were so many weird things in that game that have already been brough up (spitting on a player, two defenders hitting one another on the bomb TD, bad PI call, etc) it has gotten completely lost that UF lost by 2 and last play of the third quarter gave up a 30+ yard safety when the snap went over the punters head. Just a comedy of errors in that game. However USF did the same with Boise, they capitalize off mistakes and make you pay so credit to them.

IDK why that safety is not being talked about more, it was weird when I watched the highlights on youtube the official "NCAA" ones it was like 22 minutes long. I missed a good chunk of the game but thought how TF is a 18-16 game have a 22 min highlight. So many check downs for 8 yards that got a first down but they completely skipped the safety, I had to go back to figure out how tf that happened.

Removing the kneel down.
Of their first five drives, one went for 11 plays and the other 10 plays.

That’s what SP+ doesn’t like. That defensively that’s about what an average defense would do against Bethune.

You have to remember, these analytic models aren’t judging your performance in a vacuum. It’s not impressive holding a team to 3 points in non-garbage time if the average tean would hold them to no points. That’s what you’re being judged on.

Mario and Dawson were more focused on sticking to fundamentals and staying on schedule than on running up the score to game the ranking system. At this stage of the season, that algorithm is useless, since outside factors matter far more than statistical projections.

All trolling aside UF outplayed them that game, UF had a questionable PI go against them that took away a TD, if not for a bunch of stupid UF mistakes UF wins that game by 14+

USF isn't good

At this point, given how overrated many of the SEC and BiG teams are in the Top 25 rankings, I'm happy we have a relatively weak opponent that can give us a quality win. ESPN and the pollsters have rigged the rankings to our detriment so often, playing one or two (FSU) overrated opponents is just interest on the debt.

Yup. It really was a Billy special. About as much as you can possibly do to lose a game for yourself.

USF gets the ball first and punts.

Gators get the ball, run it basically right down USF's throat, go 80 yards in 14 plays, and Baugh has 5 carries for 51 yards. On the first drive. Of course they get a false start on 2nd and 10 in the redzone so they settle for a field goal, but your back has 5 for 51 on the first drive of the game. He only got the ball a total of 18 times on the game, a game in which you basically controlled. LOL.

USF gets a field goal, gators get the ball back, right down the field again, but have TWO touchdowns taken away by penalty. First one was a hold, the second one was a terrible call. But again, long drive, only a FG.

Three and out for USF. OK, take the game by the throat. Nope, more yards, more success....another field goal.

Now, you're screwed. The game should be 21-3, or at least 17-3, and USF realizes they're in big trouble. Instead, they're fully engaged and believing they can win. This CANNOT happen on Saturday. Score early and often, and don't give them any belief. The only way you lose this game is if you sleepwalk through the first half and give them opportunities to keep it close.

2nd half, gators go 3 and out, interception, punt, three and out but they snap the ball over the punter's head for a safety. They mismanaged the clock SO BAD late. They used a timeout on offense, winning the game, on 1st down LOL. 100+ yards in penalties. Spit on a kid. Just as embarrassing a performance, coaching and playing, as you can have.

And they still lost by 2 on a last-second FG.

Best case scenario for us. Gator losses are always total gifts. I want them to lose every game for the next 50 years. And they lose it....TO A TEAM WE GET TO BEAT THE **** OUT OF THE VERY NEXT WEEK.

I hate the gates. Saw the full game replay. That’s a good usf team that played an average p5 team.
UF lost that game more than UF won it.
Give credit to usf for capitalizing when they had to and not letting the game slip away.

That doesn’t mean that usf is a cupcake. But it also doesn’t mean that uf is good.

We played as basic as possible and rotated everyone and the water boy onto the field.

In the old days of the BCS they'd punish us in the voting for not beating Bethune Cookman by 70. As is we just got out of there with no injuries and snaps for everyone.

esp now since they value good losses over blowout wins over wins against fcs schools.

Tito picked Miami to win 34-27. I don't want to jinx the Canes, but I have a hard time believing USF will score 27 on this defense. I'm feeling a 37-13 win for Miami.

The total is at 56 I think. I don’t think the over will hit. Like you, a 35-17 type game hits the under and the line (depending when you bought in)
