Miami offered DE/DT Joey Ivie

Kid recently did an interview with Chad Simmons. He has picked up a bunch of new offers including us.

He said he had an amazing time at our spring game and we are right up at the top of his list. The problem is the Gators are starting to recruit him harder and he grew up a UiF fan. Seems like he is waiting on them with us as the back-up plan (at the moment anyway)

Excellent size and has the girth to play DT and a 3-4 DE. Anticipates the snap well and gets off the ball quickly. Very balanced. Can key and diagnose run plays, get through trash, showed good effort in pursuit, and really bring a pop square in the runner's numbers. Plays low in that regard, but needs to get lower when coming out of his stance. Has good football instincts and unusually good hand eye coordination for a guy his size. Seems to be a finesse rusher. Showed a rip move and some hand fighting skills, and has a good burst getting to the quarterback, sometimes with a blocker holding on to him, but a guy his size, who's only going to get bigger, needs to add some power rushes to his game and needs to be more physical at the point of attack. Nothing U Tough can't fix. Good prospect.
 
watch bama comes with the offer right behind us... He looks legit and from that video he made a lot of plays in the backfield...

Good stuff. To add onto that, I'd venture to say that he may have the potential to play SDE in a 4-3 even. Think Jelani Hamilton/Joey Bosa type.

Agreed.
I watched the vid again. This guy is very athletic. And if he's smart enough, he could definitely play all three.
AG needs to get this guy in camp.
 
Forget about competition or size or anything.Did you see that kid burst off the line of scrimmage play after play after play with tenacity and a high motor? He needs to be wearing Orange & Green in 2013.
