Miami Mentions: 2020 Top247 July Update

This is just false. There aren’t a lot of 5* TEs, and the ones there are tend to be prototype kids. Brevin is not a prototype athlete, he didn’t blow away others on measurables, and so he was a high 4* kid on production and ability. He was also the second ranked TE in that class. The top ranked TE was more of a prototype (6’7”), went to UGA, and was also a 4*. Both he and Brevin were ranked as 6.0 on Rivals, which is a notch below 5*. It’s a myth Brevin would have been ranked higher if he went elsewhere. Maybe there are examples of that, but he ain’t it.
They wont listen Sands u preaching to some who wont hear it. Some guys would disagree with u but are still open minded and understand different factors legot factors keep kids from getting the fifth star. If they want to say chaney wont get a fifth cause of 40 then ok thats fair. He still a five star on the field but u can get why he wont get a fifth. Its fair either way conaidering Chaney imo at least cause to me he still values high.

You don’t find it odd Chaney drops and Wingo is now top 100? Chaney made Wingo his punk ***** at the opening in front of all these guys making the rankings.

I used to think d was a Miami guy and each year he justifies the joke of a system. Yes our guys needs better coaching when they get here, but we get the shortend of that rankings thing more often than not, only time I can remember we didn’t was the last couple of years under clappy!

On your second paragraph i find it hard to believe like if a kid gets a fifth star that means billy joe sitting in his basement signs up for a subscription just to look at the fifth star by a kids name. I juat find that hard to believe. I respect your football iq and the players u like same as me most of the time but its hard to believe man

D - your statements are sad to say the least!!!

That’s BS. Then explain Nauta and O’Leary? Brevin had better stats than them both AND is faster AND more athletic. They are all the same size. If being 6’7 matters than why did Washington drop 10 spots after killing it at camps and running faster than Nauta and O’Leary could dream about? It’s because Nauta chose UGA and O’Leary went to FSU. Whorechant’s Dot boosts FSU commits ratings on rivals like Stampini does the Gators on 247. They have a huge amount of subscribers for their boards compared most everyone else.
As I just pointed out to you, the guy ranked ahead of Brevin also chose Georgia. And he was a 4*, too. You’re overthinking this. In amy large data set you can find examples going different ways.

If we did get him he woukd still rise he killed it at the 7 on 7s. Chad Thomas rose Duke rose....kids rise based off potential. There never always right but they give u a good idea of whos who. Like i mentioned before Brevin was still beast and still got love at the under armour game cause he was a baller not because of anything else.

You still don't ******* get it.

I'm not even saying that I agree with it, but what the HISTORICAL criticism has been goes like this - once a kid CHOOSES Miami, he stays the same, or drops, in the rankings. Kids who pick Alabama or other SEC schools, once they CHOOSE, will go UP in the rankings.

So keep yammering on about camps and whatnot, you are clueless as to what people have complained about for 20 years.

And as further proof that you are clueless, go to the point about Knighton/Williams going UP in the rankings after NOT participating in camps, and Walker going DOWN in the rankings after doing well in camps.

Stop acting as if camps determine these rankings. We all know that certain writers from certain websites lobby the **** out of 247 to "bump" their particular recruits up in the rankings.

I get that Brevin isn't going to be a 1st round pick. I don't think he's got the size or elite speed. However, it was impossible to know that 3 years ago. Brevin would've been bumped if he went elsewhere and I'm sticking to it. He was the number 1 TE on some sites.

Nobody cares what you "find hard to believe". It's not about "Billy Joe sitting in his basement", it's about the writers/moderators for certain websites lobbying the people at 247 who put out the rankings. so that the writers/moderators can generate interest on their various websites by writing 100 "Gaytors rise in the class rankings" articles per year.

It happens. It doesn't matter if you don't believe it, but that's what happens.

I also agree @Liberty City El MR should be a top ten wr. But we arent the only school this happens too. I think also they inflate bama uga and lsu clemson based on the coaches history not subscription base. I think they trust the coaches more then the subs cause they get there money either way

So, let me see if I understand yet another one of your genius conclusions.

Kids who have NOT YET ATTENDED Alabama, UGa, LSU, and Clemson...kids in high school...get inflated rankings...NOT from camps...but because of the reputations of coaches who have not yet even coached the kids...

So, not only does this go against your "it's all about the camps, man" argument, it also indicates exactly what Miami fans have complained about for 20 years, that there are bias factors in play.

And, of course, ignoring the fact that Alabama, UGa, LSU, and Clemson have very large, and very active, websites in 247/Rivals.

How many posts are you going to make where you deny the obvious?

I think bias is always going to be the normal. Like they used to rate our guys super high after Butch because they trusted the U. Bias in some form is true but u dont need bias for cant miss guys like patrick Peterson Clowneys etc. U want no bias? Look at gogeta liberty city el and few guys here and u wont get bias

This thing that you say, it literally DID NOT HAPPEN.

Class Rankings are irrelevant anyway. Some will not make it in and some will portal. Politics and money run these rankings. Arthur Sikowskj was a 4 Star because his parents have money

He was a four star because he had elite measeruables for a QB and looked great in camps. When the lights came on he sucked, and the rankings reflected that.

If the coaches r targeting them and everyone knows the typical bag schools UGA Bama etc are in the running Im sure those guys move up based on those schools showing super high interest. Or are u going to be Austinecane and follow anything that I say that can be looked at with multiple glasses? Like we all agreed on the bias of Miami hate is the only thing I disagree with, school bias based on monster head coaches? that I believe
