Miami Makes Offer For Brendan Sorsby

If we do go with our current options on staff, this might be the year to do it. Especially if games like PITT and ND are scheduled mid season. You could play one of our own and see how it plays out. Especially if games like central Michigan, Florida a+m, boston college are scheduled to start. Many of our opponents should have new starting qbs unless they go portal. Of course going to the portal with a proven guy would be great
Nick will be our back up imo . Williams and Judd leave imo

LSU with a good QB is more than an 8 win team. They have top 10 recruiting classes every year. That's not a rebuild.

Their OL gave up 35 sacks, among the worst in the P4. They will need a total OL rebuild. Also fun fact, Brendan Sorsby had 70 more rushing yards on the season than LSU's leading RB. Their leading pass catcher, Barion Brown, had fewer receiving yards than Keelan Marion, who might be Miami's 3rd or 4th best WR. So yeah, they need a complete overhaul on basically the entire offense. Those top 10 classes didn't help them much on offense this year. Kiffin will undoubtedly try to flip the roster through the portal as he did with Ole Miss, but that's still a big risk for Sorsby. It's not like going to a team missing 1-2 complimentary pieces. He only gets one shot at increasing his draft stock, it doesn't make sense (at least to me) to risk it by going to a LSU team with so many offensive holes.

he plays a lot like Dart who just got drafted in round 1 and was a pretty good starter as a rookie, so it's not hard to understand why he would be interested in playing for Kiffin

kid looks like he has the goods to me. he'll be projected as a leading Heisman contender regardless of whether he ends up at Miami or LSU

Usually how it goes, Lane is the new Lincoln Riley and always gets the guy he wants, especially with LSU money now.
His career will end up like him too . Mullen 2.0 . Lincoln prob on borrowed time . My prediction will be USC west , Alabama will be looking for new head coaches next year

I know. But its the optics. The offer being leaked is a statement that Sorsby is #1 on Miami’s board. If Miami wasn’t confident in their position, I think Mario would keep that under wraps so he could work other avenues if needed.
Disagree

Howard and mateer were similar situations

I guess the question is does a QB who has aspirations to be a #1 draft pick go to an offense that was an utter disaster in 2025? Does he believe Kiffin can fix all their problems over the span of a few months? Good luck with that if that's his choice.

I'm sure Lane has a blank check and wants to make a splash at LSU. If you're Sorsby's camp you take visits to see what the numbers do, and then negotiate with your preferred destination.
