football needs an early signing period, especially with more and more kids starting in the spring to get the jump...

this could be a blessing and a curse

There would be many more Matthew Thomas situations. Fact is the signing period only helps the fans who whine about kids making decisions instead of remembering that every coaching staff knows you recruit a kid until NSD and the LOI is faxed in. Plus, if coaches really wanted thta wouldn't that rule have come in after 40 plus years of real recruiting?

or maybe let recruits take OV during their JR year. could eliminate alot of school early. but this would be a money issue so i dont see this happening either

The assumption being that the only rules currently on the books were lobbied for, and are currently supported by coaches?

Didn't say they were supported but if there are rules changes to recruiting as time goes on with social media and everything if the coaches really wanted a early signing period wouldn't there be at least some noise of it? Every school gets decommitments and that's just the business so a early signing period would make sense so they wouldn't deal with the games till NSD but yet I have never heard anybody talk about it except for fans.
