Miami LB Raul Aguirre Enters Transfer Portal

This is a selfish choice...no other explanation
Hate it because I really like this guy.

But at the same time, everyone has to be about numero uno at some point.
I guess with Toure getting another year, Chase Smith (he’s back somehow isn’t he?), Wiley

But I dunno. That’s a good group but it’s not one a kid should be intimidated about either

We are kinda thin, but not horribly so

We have 2 or less on the field what 85-90% of the time?

Can't blame him…. He probably wants a guaranteed starting spot and Wiley is breathing down his neck. True cane and best of luck to him if we can't convince him to stay.
Toure is the only LB with meaningful experience. I guess Bonner has some experience at NCST. Do we have anyone other than Wiley and the TF that I am missing?

I think Toure and Popo would both start. Really hope we can convince him to stay.

Probably because he's not guaranteed a starting spot. Wiley is likely breathing down his neck…And DMoney said the staff really likes Bonner. I like Popo, I think the kid can play (not saying he's a star), but especially this season, and especially against the run, he was productive when he played. But he probably can't take the chance that he will be a 200-250 snap ceiling guy again.
He’s prob better with a way more athletic ability . I like to see him beside 1 . He’s another great athlete . We have to start recruiting lbs better out of high school!

I don’t want to say it’s disastrous but it almost is. There is no more portal frankly, unless we pull some Xavier Lucas BS and really fight the NCAA. The LB core starting is Toure: who has torn his same ACL twice and Bonner: who while the staff likes has been limited here, and then you’d have Popo slot into a full time or split rep starter.

I don’t exactly trust anyone else to be ready to claim that #3 spot in the corps. Pay him what he wants, he deserves it and the snaps. We don’t need to stress Toure and that ACL.

Was Bonner on any injury reports? He was healthy and available and barely played all year so miss me with the staff suddenly likes him more than Popo talk.

The only time I remember him playing this season he looked lost af and gave up a score right behind him. Popo was our 3rd backer, and was in line for an even bigger role next season on an already extremely thin LB unit. Doesn’t make sense unless this is a $ play. JMO
