I’ve been hearing up here Bama’s not put out as much in NIL as people think. I think they are putting out for the big dogs but the guys who are in the middle aren’t getting as much as other places. That will affect your depth in key places

“He’s pumped (about going to Miami),” English told CaneSport. “He wears his gear regularly and he’s ready to get down there. A lot of people ask him ‘Why did you pick Miami?’ or ‘What made you pick Miami over Georgia or Michigan or Florida’ and he just says ‘They have everything I want.’ Their coaches are incredibly invested.

“Everybody gets money, so it’s about that connection and what he feels like (is a good relationship),” English adds. “I met coach (Jason) Taylor and a couple of others. (Bacon) feels like they genuinely care for him and I think that shows in what they’re able to do this year so far. The reality of it is if everybody’s getting paid, where does the edge come in? Where do you build the program or how do you get over the top? And I think those are the personal connections with the coaches and players and other players, and I think Tyson feels that and he’s pumped about it.”

“He feels great about his decision. There’s no wavering,” English said. “I’ve spoken with some kids and (they’ll say), ‘Well maybe if this school (came into the picture…’ but he’s not like that at all. He’s ready to go.”
Who is coming after him?
Hoover (Ala.) three-star defensive lineman and 2026 Miami commit Tyson Bacon has continued to receive interest from programs like Florida, Auburn and Alabama despite his pledge to the Hurricanes, but the 6-foot-4, 265-pound prospect isn’t going anywhere.

For the first time this season, Miami defensive line commit Tyson Bacon visited Hard Rock Stadium to watch the Hurricanes play for their 41-7 win over NC State. He had plans to check out his future team earlier in the year, but an ACL tear he suffered prevented that from happening. Bacon arrived at the game wearing a knee brace but was walking comfortably. He told CaneSport afterwards that he’s ahead of schedule in his rehab.

“Everything’s going great. I’m at least three to four weeks ahead,” Bacon said. “I’m already walking, already jogging, I’m already strengthening it at seven weeks, and I’m just ready to get back.”

“I learned to just tune out the outside noise,” he said. “I mean, everyone keeps calling, telling me my rankings dropped, and how I went from top 60 in the nation to just a three star and dropping down. But really, none of that matters when it comes down to it, because at the end of the day, we all got the same goal, and we’re all gonna go to that next level, and it’s who competes and who performs.”

“I’m very excited,” Bacon said. “I mean, I’ve been waiting for this moment since forever, since the day I committed, and they showed me nothing but love ever since then.”

“Just the history behind it. Also me just having two great coaches just on the edge and interior. I just get great sticks on both ends. I just like that a lot.”

Bacon is listed at 6-foot-3.5, but we think he could be an inch or two taller after seeing him again in person. He has the type of frame that Miami really values on the defensive line.
