Yesterday's front page headline on 247sports: How much is too much? College football sources sound off on five-star OT Jackson Cantwell's massive NIL deal with Miami.

The hate is real. But I must say, after years and years of seeing blue-blood schools cheat to secure commitments from players, it's nice to be the boogeyman in College Football.

Parents are no slouches and probably like some of the finer things in life. I've lived in both the city and rural areas and I've loved them both for different reasons. If your going to be a millionaire at 17 years old why not enjoy that lifestyle a little bit in a place like Coral Gables. South Florida is a beautiful place. It's not where I would choose to live at this point in my life with three kids I grew up there, but if the money is right later in life I wouldn't mind moving back into a condo off Pompano Beach. This is why I don't get the non cultural fits. Some kids from the country will like it here. Some won't. Be focused on the ones you can see as a fit and recruit, recruit, recruit.

The reason that people think you are a troll is because you passive-aggressively said that Miami would not ever make the playoffs, and that if Cantwell wanted to be in the playoffs, he was better off going to Alabama or Georgia.

And then you Urkel-pretended like you didn't understand why people would have a problem with that.

Was listening to Gaby's full podcast with Cantwell and he specifically references that he feels he'll make the biggest improvement at UM learning all of the intricacies associated with pass protection. You can see why he scored a 33 on the ACT. He's very intelligent and genuinely values development. The narrative this was purely an NIL-based decision is complete dog****.

I always say someone’s gotta take a chance to make/be that change. We wouldn’t have lost those games last year. Him with Cam, X, Jacolby, Zay and Arroyo. Unstoppable

But I feel great about my choice, and I have a lot of reasons why. The amount of effort and objectiveness with which offensive line coach Alex Mirabal coaches is unmatched. It meant the world to me and my family how hard they recruited us and how much time they poured into us going into my decision, not just to get me to the school but to show me that they had a plan and thought highly of me to where I would have a lot of great opportunities on and off the field at the university.

(Sports agent) Drew Rosenhaus ensured that I would be compensated regardless of where I went, but at the end of the day, compensation won’t matter if you’re unhappy with where you’re at. But I knew I would be happy with my situation at Miami.

So lucky to have this kid in the fold. He's going to need development, but this is the type of mentality that will allow coaches to get the very most out of him where he can excel at UM.
