Bauman has been our most useless weapon in the offense imo. Him and Lofton both have drops but at the very east of Lofton actually catches the ball he’s far better at picking up YaC. Baumans only real role should be short yardage or redzone…

Too bad Scott is hurt I’d love to have seen him get in against Syracuse and NCSt. Bajman getting flexed out to the slot is legit infuriating. If Schott was healthy he could be filling that role right now.

Thry’re both ***, but I didn’t expect a ton from Bauman. That’s the difference.

The expectation is that Mueller, one of the nation's fast-rising prospects, will be a Top 125 overall player, a top ten player at his position, and a top five player in Illinois this cycle once that goes live.

I was skeptical on him as a recruit, didn’t see the upside in a 6’0 230 sawed off pass catcher. I bought into the offseason hype instead of just going with what I know/my gut. We have seen plenty of him now and I don’t want to hear about the injuries on someone who has never been on an injury report this season. He has played every game and underwhelmed in them all. He’s definitely injured. Mario talked about it in this week’s presser.

I’m most disappointed in the lack of physicality. Some of that is health-related (shoulder) but he also looks out of sorts mentally. As a freshman, he blocked very well.

When you take away the ability to block like a fullback, it puts even more pressure on his receiving as a 6’0, 240-pounder. And he’s not moving like he did last year, so you get a very ineffective player.

With the ball in his hands, Lofton can make plays. However, the problem is, the ball in his hands cause he has the case of the dropsies.

I agree with your previous post that there's plenty of talent and size in that room to be better next year than what we've seen this year. Whether that's with or without Lofton. I wouldn't put TE high on the list of portal needs. With the addition of Briggs and Mueller.. Lofton, Schott, Gilbert, Jackson Carver, let them all battle it out.

He’s out there playing. He had what, 2 drops this past weekend? Made his first play down the field further than 10 yards all season? He scores, it was a nice play and congrats to him. But he has been the most underwhelming this year, compared to the hype received, and it isn’t even close. If he is so hurt, to where we shouldn’t even expect him to make simple plays, then what are we doing? We can’t continue to use that as an excuse if they continue to roll him out there. I don’t need him to have 8/125/2 every game, but he has literally been a net negative every game this year.
