Miami lands coveted defensive end Johnson

Things are beggining to change in terms of internal player leadership and having a self policing locker room . With players like Shaq Quarterman, Deejay Dallas, and DJ Johnson and others being added to this team I would expect to see a completely different mentality take root in the Hecht. This coaching staff has done an admirable job of laying down the foundation and the vision of the program we need to be and have always been when we were at our best. That however is not enough if a self motivating culture with strong internal leadership is not developed in the locker room.

That's where players I mentioned above come in. They will be the foundational catalysts for this programs ascent back to the pinnacle of college football. Although he has not played a single snap that counts yet, Shaquille Quarterman will serve to be the rock that our new dynasty will be built on. Shaquille has more than just talent. He possesses a type of maturity well beyond his years and the type of focus and leadership ability that very few are born with. Without even having played a game yet, it is strikingly apparent to me than Shaq is a transcendent once in a decade(Maybe more) type of player. He is the type of player that has the ability to galvanize an entire locker room with his character and work ethic. As this staff continues to add and stack talent it will be the young men like Shaq, DJ, and Deejay that will turn a very talented program, into a championship program.

Nice post, I disagree that was happening with the players the past couple of classes, they just didn't have it in the front office to help them. Tracey and Duke were putting in work, their ****** *** coaches were failing them!!!

there was nothing like our swarm of D once we intercepted balls in the reed/taylor era...... goosebumps seeing those clips...

It was a sight to see, anytime the defense got their hands on the ball they were going for 6. Can't wait to get back to that mindset.

Do you think we will hear Eric Winston-esque quotes from guys like Shaquille Quarterman, Sam Bruce and DJ Johnson? I think not. Bring back those kinds of guys and your drought ends quickly. We can't take anymore guys who tell us that the other team's players are on scholarship too.

Best commit video ive seen yet. Funny and lighthearted but kept it real and is still a total G. Kids gunna be a star, on and off the field

I'm not quite sure where you're coming from exactly but I will say that the above photo is the very antithesis of what this team is developing into.

Blah, blah, blah. After a decade of irrelevance, I'll believe this program has changed when I see it. Same crap was said about Randy and Golden.
If you don't have hope, why you're even here? Randy? Most of us thought he was unqualified. Golden? He was a brilliant salesman that fooled us for short period of time but it was evident soon after that he was fake. You can't say the same about Richt. If you can't see that sorry I can't help you. Go back to your depression and stay away from the hopefuls here.

Randy pulled in the #1 recruiting class in the nation his first full year, everyone (including myself) on Grassy was yelling "we back." Al Golden gave that press conference when he was hired and everyone (including myself) was loving him. Stop playing. I do have hope with Richt, but I'm done pretending like everything is fine and dandy until I see it on the field. I do know that kids like Johnson are incredibly crucial to get back to our best.

That commit video was almost as good as the shirtless booty jort wearing redneck who committed to Clemson while chopping wood.

That's like saying i'm not going to have *** with my wife on our wedding night because we might get a divorce in 10 years. Enjoy the moment, try being a fan.

Anybody else find it odd that the local recruits do nothing to push kids here but a kid in Georgia and a kid in California are all about helping bring in more guys?

What an analogy. No, what I am saying is I'm maintaining my expectations until I see results.

It's not that odd because the local guys have been exposed daily to the toxicity that surrounded UM over the last couple years. By waiting too long to grease Folden, UM allowed the seething hate and toxicity to completely engulf the program, as real UM fans felt they had no choice but to declare war in order to facilitate Folden's ouster.

The out of state guys didn't really experience that. They and their families still remember the glory of the U.

Add to that the constant babying and swaddling of South Florida recruits from the time they show an inkling of athletic ability, and you have the diarrhea soup that local recruiting of blue chips has become.
