Just when recruiting seems to be settling down as the season draws closer, Miami goes out and lands another commitment in the form of 2027 DeMarcus DeRoche.

Listed at 6-foot-6, 210 pounds, the Cardinal Gibbons two-way product earned an offer earlier this summer following UM's Prospects Day.



At the high-school level DeRoche has played across the board from TE to LB and DE, and is a three-sport athlete --- competing in basketball and track alongside football.

Last season he racked up seven sacks and five touchdowns, demonstrating his ability on both sides of the ball.



Already listed as a four-star prospect, DeRoche's stock will only rise with his high-ceiling athleticism and positional versatility.

The Hurricanes beat out the likes of Florida, Auburn and Louisville for the jumbo-athlete as he becomes the fifth commit in their 2027 class.

Simple as i can put it: he’s not made for 7on7 football lol, which is why he wasn’t going all out because going all out would hurt his team in that sense.

Good cardio/team-building exercise for him nonetheless, and doubles as a campus visit.
